Fitz's POV:

Fitz saw as Dex's eyes filled to the brim with tears. Tam reached out and placed a hand on Dex's shoulder.

"A-are you sure?" Dex stammered as he wiped the tears from his eyes. Fitz nodded.

"We'll always be here, Dex," Tam told him. Dex nodded shakily.

"I-I shouldn't keep you waiting. Your friends are probably wondering where you -" Dex started, but he was cut off by Fitz when he cupped Dex's face with his hands. Dex looked at Fitz with confusion.

"Dex, right now there is nothing more important to me than your well-being, okay?" Fitz stated. Dex nodded. Fitz was gentle with the Omega. He didn't want to hurt him. He wanted Dex to trust him. SO bad.

"It's just... I-" Dex's eyes started to well with tears again. Tam sighed as he placed a hand on Dex's shoulder.

"Whatever happens in this process, you won't have to worry. We'll be right by your side the whole way through. Linh, Fitz, Biana, Elwin, and I will put forth our utmost effort into making sure you are well cared for," Tam informed him. Dex's bottom lip trembled. Mood swings. Oh, God. This is going to be a rough and bumby road.

"N-no, it's not that. F-Fitz, your dad won't let this happen, will he?" Dex asked as he turned to look at Fitz with his periwinkle blue eyes. Fitz found himself lost in them.

"I doubt he will, but I don't care if he does or doesn't. Because, no matter what anybody says, I will be standing right by your side, unconditionally," Fitz told Dex with a passionate smile on his face. Dex took hold of Fitz's hand and squeezed it softly.

There was a small knock on the door. All three boys turned their attention to the person standing within the door frame.

"Sorry to intrude on this... erm... special moment, but Dex, honey, I'm guessing they know now?" Juline asked as she flashed a careful smile at them. Dex grumbled a reply. Fitz squeezed Dex's hand in reassurance. Juline looked like she was going to cry of happiness.

"I'm so happy you are willing to stay by his side, Fitz. It means a lot to both of us," Juline told Fitz.

"Of course, Juline. I'm willing to do anything to protect the people I love," Fitz informed her as she made her way over.

"Then, promise me this Fitzroy Vacker," her tone turned icey cold and dead serious, "You will NEVER break his heart. Will never abandon him. You will never give up on him. Do I make myself perfectly clear, Vacker?" she asked. Her eyes stared daggers into Fitz's.

"I-I promise, ma'am," Fitz stammered. From behind him, Dex groaned.

"Ugh, mom, stop scaring him!" Dex whined. Tam chuckled.

"Fitz Vacker? Scared? Never!" Tam commented sarcastically. Fitz shot him a look. Juline's expression softened as she embraced her son in her arms.

"I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner, sweety," she apologized. Dex shrugged her off.

"It's fine, really," Dex told her, taking her hand. Juline smiled at him and took a quick glance at Fitz.

"I'm so proud of you, dear," Juline rested her forehead against her strawberry blond son's. Fitz felt a small feeling of warmth. He didn't know why. He just did. Tam shuffled his feet.

"Uhm... I'll leave you guys to... this," Tam grumbled as he made his way to the door. Fitz shot up and grabbed Tam's sleeve. Tam turned slightly to face the brunette.

"Thanks," Fitz told him. It was all he could think of saying at the moment.  His alpha mind was clogged with what was going on. Dex now was helpless and in need of alpha protection.

Tam nodded to Fitz, and Fitz did the same to him. Then, Tam left Fitz alone with Juline and Dex. Juline was saying something to Dex about telling Kesler. But, Dex didn't seem to be listening. His periwinkle blue eyes were trained on Fitz.

"Fitz," Dex started. Fitz looked at Dex with curiosity in his eyes. When Fitz's eyes met the omega's, his heart skipped a beat. All Dex gave him was a warm smile. Fitz returned it gratefully. He made his way back over to Dex's side.

"Thanks for being here, Fitz." Dex piped up after a bout of silence. Fitz traced his fingers along the stitching of the bed sheets.

"I would never abandon someone who was pregnant with my child just because of what others say about them," Fitz told Dex. Dex's eyes sparkled at the alphas words. But, Dex noticed the worry growing on Fitz's face.

"What's wrong?" Dex asked as he reached for Fitz hand. Fitz was so focused on what he thought his dad would say that he completely forgot about Juline and Dex.

"Huh? O-oh, I just... I'm worried about what my dad will say when I tell him about this..." Fitz mumbled as he felt Dex's warm touch on the top of his hand. Fitz wanted to take it so badly. He wanted to hold the omega in his arms, tight and close. He never felt this way towards another omega.

Fitz took his chances and took hold of Dex's hand. Dex sucked in a sharp breath. Fitz squeezed Dex's hand softly.

Juline cleared her throat. Making Fitz jump out of his skin.

"Well, I'll leave you two alone for a little while," Juline said as she winked at the two boys.

"Mom!" Dex shouted at his mother. Juline giggled as she walked pit the door, leaving Fitz alone with Dex. Dex squirmed in bed and pulled his hand away from Fitz's.

"Oh, sorry," Fitz stated as he brought his hand away. He didn't want to make Dex uncomfortable. Dex shook his head.

"No, no, it's okay. It's just..." It seemed like Dex was at a loss of words. So Fitz decided to guess.

"It's just... weird?" Fitz tried. Dex shrugged.

"I'm just not used to it, I guess," Dex told him. Fitz nodded in understanding.

"Well, looks like we both aren't used to something," Fitz teased. Dex chuckled. He placed his hand on Fitz's forearm and rubbed his thumb in a circle motion.

"Can I?" Fitz asked as he motioned to Dex's stomach. He wanted to lay down. Dex looked hesitant for a moment.

"Sure," he finally said. Fitz gratefully played his head on Dex stomach as he felt Dex's hand be placed on the back of his head. Fitz's eyes became heavy. He snuggled up on Dex's chest. He could feel Dex's heartbeat against his. He heard Dex start to hum something, and before he could stop himself, he was asleep.
