Fitz was lying on the couch in Rimeshire while reading a book. It was a short mystery novel, but it was entertaining enough.

There was a loud bang and the sound of footsteps running down the stairs. Here comes the triplets, Fitz thought as he quickly marked his page and set the book down as the three ran into the living room. Lex chasing Bex, and Rex bringing up the rear with a smile. They stopped in front of Fitz with huge grins on their faces.

"Hey, Fitz," Lex said as his siblings lined up on both sides of him.

"What are you three up to now?" Fitz asked as he sat up. Word must have traveled through the house because there came the sound of a throat clearing, and the triplets froze.

"No one is going to be up to anything today. Not while I'm in charge of the house," the voice of Fitz's wonderful fiancé announced. Fitz looked over to where the doorway to the kitchen was. There stood Dex in a flowy pink tunic and black pants. One of those pink loofah robes draped over his shoulders. Fitz almost snorted, but he covered his mouth. Dex gave him a raised eyebrow look.

"Sorry, sorry. You look wonderful, love," Fitz told Dex. Dex sighed and walked over to Fitz and stood beside him as Fitz stayed sitting on the couch. Fitz's hand crawled up Dex's side and rested on Dex's side, rubbing the side of his fiance's belly. He rested his head against the other side of Dex's belly. Fitz hummed in contentment. Dex's hand rested on top of Fitz's head. The triplets made a sound of disgust and ran away into the other room. Well, Fitz thought all the triplets went. But one remained, Rex. He stared at Fitz and Dex in awe.

"...what's it like to love someone?" Rex asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Fitz pondered his answer, but Dex didn't.

"It's like when mom makes fresh Mallowmelt. And it's all warm and sweet. It's kind of like that. Except you adore and love every part of them." Fitz looked up at Dex when he spoke. Fitz was sure he had hearts in his eyes while looking at  him.

Rex nodded and seemed to think for a moment. His face started to contort into a nervous look. Dex glance down at Fitz.

"Is something wrong, Rex?" Fitz questioned. Rex fiddled with the sleeve of his tunic.

"I... well... I think I love someone..." Rex informed the two. Fitz felt Dex tense up a bit under his touch. He could tell his fiancé was nervous now. Fitz massaged Dex's side.

"Honey..." Fitz urged. Dex's lips thinned into slips. Rex's gaze shifted between the two. Dex sat next to Fitz.

"I- hah... I just don't want you to get hurt, Rex..." Dex told the younger boy. Rex straightened and looked at Dex defiantly.

"He's nice!" Oh, this was new. It was a guy. Fitz's straight face turned to a small grin.

"He?" Fitz blurted. Dex stomped on his foot. He winced.

"Yeah... he... he's nice. He's funny," Rex said. The boy clasped his hands behind his back and smiled a bit. Dex still remained like a concerned mother.

"What's his name?" Fitz asked, earning himself another stomp on the foot.

"...Elijah..." Rex mumbled. Fitz nodded, his hand resting on Dex's back gently. The scene out of context would make someone think that Fitz and Dex were Rex's parents.

"I..." Dex started. But Fitz hushed him.

"Dear, let him be. He's allowed to be in love." That earned a small glare from Dex.

"Well... a- and... I think he likes me back...." Rex told them.
