Chapter 17 (P2)

Fitz's POV:

First of all, why in the world, no, HOW in the world, did Alden get the location of Bramwell? He had scared the shit out of Dex and angered the hell out of Fitz.

But, on the bright side, Dex got the rings. Spoiler alert, one of those rings is going to be the ring Fitz was going to propose to Dex with. Fitz didn't know what kind of ring Dex would want, so he sent Dex to pick out his own. Fitz thought Dex's choice of rings was rather... interesting, to say the least.

Now, Fitz was chopping vegetables for dinner. Dex was folding the laundry in the living room. He sliced some... prickly vegetables up and sprinkled them on him and Dex's food. It was a recipe his mother had lender him. He didn't exactly get why all the most random things went in, but he went along with it.

There was a knock on the doorway. Fitz looked up and saw Dex leaning! on the doorway with a smile.

"Whatcha making?" he asked as he walked over to Fitz.

"Honestly, I have no idea. Ask my mom," Fitz replied as he looked at Dex. The strawberry blond boy wrapped his arm around Fitz's and  leaned on him. Dex laughed slightly.

"You don't know? Hmm, I guess we'll find out, then," he snickered. Then, he dipped his finger in the food and ran off into the living room again. Fitz made a face of mock offense.

"EW- What is this?!" Dex shouted abruptly from the living room. It took every molecule in Fitz's body to keep him from dropping to the floor and laughing. Dex came running back through the kitchen to the bathroom with his hand over his mouth.

"What are you doing?" Fitz called, laughing slightly.

"Throwing up, thank you very much!" Dex yelled. Fitz chuckled as he pushed open the door to the bathroom and knelt by Dex as he vomited.

"You know, I haven't done this since the day I found out you were pregnant, and that was about a month ago now, hmm?" Fitz remarked. Dex groaned as he threw up again. After he was done, he leaned on Fitz and dug his head into Fitz's side. Fitz wrapped his arms around Dex and pulled him close. "Yep, not eating that then tonight. If my pregnant fiancé is throwing it up, then I'm not gonna eat it." He leaned his head on Dex's.

"What am I gonna eat then?" Dex questioned, looking up at Fitz. Fitz's breath hitched in his throat as he stared into Dex's periwinkle blue eyes. He got lost in the boy's eyes for a moment before remembering that he needed to feed him.

"Uhhh... will a Bliztenberry Muffin work?" Fitz suggested. Dex shrugged.

"Sure, but more than one, I'm hungry," Dex told Fitz. Fitz nodded as he helped Dex to his feet.

Fitz sat and watched Dex as he ate his muffin, Dex often offered Fitz some, but he refused.

"You need to eat too, Fitz," Dex mumbled as he looked at Fitz. Fitz shook his head.

"More for you," Fitz answered. Dex let his head droop to one side. He shoved the rest of the muffin in his mouth and stared at Fitz with a stern look.

"You need to eat, Fitz. I know you didn't eat lunch," Dex grumbled. Fitz straightened up a bit. Dex stood up with a muffin in hand and walked over to Fitz, and Fitz made the dumb decision to stay sitting. Why? Because Dex shoved the muffin into Fitz's mouth. Fitz let out a muffled yelp. Though, he enjoyed it when Dex cared so much about him. Fitz didn't want to eat the muffin, so he tried to spit it out.

He ended up eating the muffin. After Dex had tied his hands behind the chair and force fed him. Fitz grumbled and whined. Dex didn't care. After Dex was done torturing Fitz, he untied Fitz and flicked his nose before walking away. Fitz groaned as pain shot through his nose from Dex's flick. He stood up and walked out into the living room. Dex was sitting on the couch reading Fitz's book.

"Is that my book?" Fitz asked. Dex didn't even look up.

"What are you gonna do about it?" Dex snickered. Fitz huffed. He wasn't going to do anything about it. He sat down next to Dex on the couch and gave him a look. Dex glanced up.

"You better not tell me what happens," Fitz warned. Dex smirked.

"Ohhhhh, Fitzie, I didn't know you liked smut books," Dex teased. Fitz's face went an extreme shade of red.

"What?! There's smut?! Why are you reading that?!" Fitz reached for the book, but Dex rolled away.

"Yep, there is. And no, you aren't getting this back yet," Dex said as he sat back up on the couch. Fitz crossed his arms before standing up to get a drink of water.

"I'm not dealing with that," Fitz sighed. Dex waved him goodbye without looking up.

Later that night, Fitz was drying his hair with a towel when Dex walked into the bathroom.

"Oh, hey, Dex," Fitz greeted his fiancé. Dex nodded and rested his head on Fitz's arm. Fitz wrapped an arm around Dex and pulled him closer. "Tired, are we?" Fitz added as he looked at Dex. Dex groaned and grabbed his toothbrush. Dex quickly brushed his teeth and went to bed. Fitz stayed up a bit longer. He gazed at the ring he was going to propose to Dex with. It glimmered and shined in the moonlight. He never felt so ready to propose than in that moment.

Q: "What do you like most about each other?"

->Dex: I like how he keeps his anger in check around me and doesn't lash out.

->Fitz: I like how he cares so much for me and helps me when I need it.

Q: "What is something you'd change about each other?"

->Dex: Hmmm.... I'd change how he cooks dinner. He's terrible.

->Fitz: I'd change how he steals about half of my clothes.

Q: "What is something you hope for in the future?"

->Dex: I hope we get along great in the future and help benefit our baby.

->Fitz: I hope our kid is happy growing up here when they're born.

Q: "What do you enjoy most about writing Sugar and Spice?"

A: I really enjoyed watching the story grow over 7 months. It was a great experience and I can't wait to see how far this story goes in the future.

Q: "Did you put your own twist on the characters and their personalitiez?"

A: Not really. I mean, if you know how Fitz is in the books, he had a major upgrade. I pictured Dex a bit more sparky than he is in the books so I guess I have my own ways of looking at the characters.

Q: "Are we going to see more of Biana, Sophie, Tam, Keefe, Linh, etc in Part 2? Or any new characters?"

A: Yep and yep. The other characters will be back in Part 2 along with a new character. The new character is the girl in chapter 16 at the jewelers! Amelia! I'm still trying to fit her into the story along with the rest of the characters!

I love you all and I cannot express how proud I am of this story making it to 1k reads! I'm possibility shooting for 2k by the middle of next year! Thank you so much Sugars!
