A/N: i pulled something out of my ass last minute bc i couldn't sleep so here ya go (it's a filler) (i got three hours of sleep do not judge my lack of details and dialogue)
"hey babe" michael said, kissing his boyfriend on the cheek when he arrived in the kitchen. "did you take your pills?"
he nodded, "all three."
"did you call your mom?"
"yep."
"good" he nodded, continuing to make breakfast. "where's jack?"
luke shrugged, "probably upstairs, i don't know."
"katie isn't here yet and if he's not out of bed he's going to be late, stay right here and watch the food" he ordered, walking upstairs to find his son.
he was in his room, barely getting out of bed. yawning, jack said, "hi daddy."
"up up up! we gotta get you ready for school!" michael exclaimed, pulling clothes out of drawers and shoes from the closet while jack changed into them.
"i want pancakes" his son declared, pulling on his last shoe like he had all the time in the world. but preschool started in twenty minutes, and it takes at least ten to get there.
"i made you your favorite, don't worry" michael leaned down and kissed his forehead, scooping him up and bringing him downstairs.
jack giggled, "lukey!"
luke looked up from his blueberry pancake, elbows resting on the counter top. "hey little man." sometimes it slipped his mind that he's a 27 year old man and needed to learn better manners. blue is smeared on his chin and crumbs are scattered over his lips.
michael laughed at him, "babe you've got food on your face." then he continued to pile food on his son's plate, setting it on the counter where he sat. jack automatically started shoveling food down his throat with the same manners as luke. with the exception that he's still a child and doesn't really know better.
a few minutes later, his plate was cleared and michael didn't even bother putting it in the sink, just rushed jack out to the car with a quick "be right back" to luke.
when michael came home, luke was gone. being the tired person he was, he took his clothes off and crawled back into bed.
being a parent was hard. you had to watch your finances because of you don't, you're going to end up having no money because you spent it all on your kid(s). michael always wanted what was best for jack, but sometimes he couldn't have that. sometimes if he wanted a toy he had to refuse, ending with a crying jack in the middle of the store.
he wasn't a bad parent. maybe a little strict and easily-angered at times, but he was doing okay. at least his son didn't hate him. michael could only hope that luke would make a great father, too.
an hour later, when michael had already fallen asleep, luke came in through the back door, jogging upstairs to find his boyfriend.
well, he thought they were boyfriends. after all, that's what michael had said, but they never really officially asked each other. sure, labels weren't really a big deal, but it made luke uncertain of his boundaries. then again, they did have sex the night before.
and luke made michael a moaning mess. looking up at him from underneath, he was still absolutely breathtaking. even with beads of sweat on his forehead and panting moans escaping past his lips.
"mikey?" he knocked on the door, slowly pushing it open and hoping he wasn't busy or anything. and he definitely wasn't.
luke smiled at the sight of michael curled up among the sheets, dead asleep. his mouth was slightly ajar, and drool trickled out of it, dampening the pillow. he clutched the comforter like he was dangling over the edge of a building and only had that to cling to. it was adorable, really. his white hair laid flat over his face and covered his eyes.
so luke took his own shirt and jeans off and slid into bed next to him, laying directly beside the other boy but not touching him.
michael shifted a little, waking up. "luke?"
he nodded, and michael pulled him closer so that their bodies curled together and their arms went around each other.
"go back to sleep baby" luke whispered, rubbing the boy's back softly. he started humming a tune that was unfamiliar to michael, but it was comforting, and soon he was snoring lightly again.
they laid in bed all day, calling for katie to pick up jack when they woke up. it was too hard to get out and let go of each other, so they didn't.
"i've never held you like this" michael mumbled. he was gazing at luke's face, playing with the locks of his hair.
"i know" luke replied, "it's nice, really. to be able to finally get to spend some time with you just laying in bed and cuddling."
"our relationship is very weird. like- for a long while we only ever texted, and then when we finally met we discovered you had schizophrenia and for a few weeks we didn't talk and then you shot me" he said it like shooting him was a casual thing, which made luke giggle.
"i'm sorry for shooting you" he apologized, "but i wasn't really in my right mind. who knows, maybe i thought it was a video game."
"you're ridiculous" michael shook his head and pulled the boy towards him, gingerly cupping his face and bringing their lips together in a soft kiss.
they leaned into each other, never getting more heated, never doing anything else except for kissing. they memorized each other's lips and face and fingertips brushing across exposed skin until they could no longer tell the difference between a flaw and a perfection.
