Regret - The Rookie

Chapter 9

5 minutes later

Tim got into position and texted Lucy to go to roll call. Tamara and Lucy walked holding each others hands, as Lucy opens the door she sees the decorations in the room. Walking more into the room, Lucy looked up to see Tim on one knee. She is in shock and Tamara walks over to Angela.

Tim: "Lucy from the moment I met you, I thought that this would just be another rookie I had to train. As time went on, I grew closer to you and we became a team. After finding out about everything that happened to you my heart broke, I cared so much for you and was ready to help you find your daughter. I was so happy, when you were reunited with your daughter because you deserved it. Once we started dating, I fell madly in love with you and I loved spending time with Tamara. I can't wait to be a family with you; it'll you, me, Tamara and baby boot. I love you guys so much. So, Lucy Chen, will you make me the luckiest man on Earth and marry me?"

Lucy: "Oh Babe, 100% yes. I will marry you." Tim puts the ring on her finger and kisses her. Tamara runs over and Tim picks her up. Everyone congratulate them.

Lucy: "Babe, we are going to wait until this baby is born first before the wedding. I just don't want to get married like this."

Tim: "Baby, I would marry you anytime, but if you want to wait until after the baby I'm happy. Whenever you want to get marry." She nods.

A month later, Lucy is eight months pregnant. Tim is at work, while Tamara is at home with her mum. Lucy got a sharp pain and feel between her legs wet, she knew that she was in labour. She sang out to Tamara.

Lucy: "Tamara, sweetie come here." Tamara enters the room.

Tamara: "Yes mum."

Lucy: "Grab the phone and call Tim, let him know I'm in labour and my contractions are only 7 minutes apart. If he tells you to call 9-1-1 please do it and ask for an ambulance." Yes nods, on the phone to Tim she tells him what happens, then after getting off the phone with Tim she calls 911. Asking for an ambulance, she remained calm as there was no point of panicking and freaking her mum out. Lucy was taken to the hospital where she met Tim and Angela. Angela looked after Tamara while her parents went to the delivery room, Lucy was almost ready.

4 hours later, Lucy gave birth to their healthy baby girl. They named her Ella Jo Bradford and were set up in a room. Tim and Lucy spent some time with their baby girl, then Tim left the room and went to the waiting room. Tim held Tamara hand while guiding her and Angela to Lucy. Once they walked in Lucy smiled.

Lucy: "Hey Ang, hey darling. Would you like to meet your sister?" Tamara nods and makes her way over to the bed, she struggles a little to get up so Tim gives her a hand up.

Lucy: "Here's you baby girl. You can hold her if you want." Lucy passes baby Ella to Tamara.

Tamara: "Hey sissy, I'm your big sister. (turns to her parents) May I ask what's her name?"

Tim: "Ella Jo Bradford. Also just because I'm not biologically your father, we're not going to love you any less. We love you both equality as much." Tamara is glowing, smiling big and she is over the moon. She has a family and is loved.

The next day, they left the hospital and headed home. When they arrived, they were surprised by all of their friends there with them. They all celebrated the baby and Tamara was showing off her new sister. She was having her proud big sister moment, she was safe and happy with her family. She was amazing with Ella on the day, she would hold her close but also was being gentle with her sister.

Lucy: "Okay, how about in 2 months we get married. I can't wait anymore, I just need to lose the baby bump."

Tamara: "I know you will, but mum you look amazing. Let's have a wedding."
