Regret - The Rookie

Chapter 10

The day has arrived, Tim and Lucy are getting married today. They are both over the moon, even on cloud nine. They couldn't wait, so they called each other and spoke before the wedding. After a bit of time they hung up. Everyone was getting ready for the wedding and all the guess started showing up.

The music started as the grooms men walked down the aisle, then Tim followed in behind them. Tim had the biggest smile on his face and beaming. While with the girls, Lucy was preparing to walk down the aisle by herself as her parents disowned her. There was a knock at the door and Nyla opened the door, it was Grey.

Grey: "Hey Nyla, can I come in. (She nods at him and he walks in). Woah, Lucy your look incredible."

Lucy: "Thank you, sir. Is there something you need?"

Grey: "Please call me Wade or Grey. I have something to ask you. I know you want to have an amazing day so, I would be honoured to walk you down the aisle if you want. You're like a daughter to me and Tim is like a son."

Lucy (tears form in her eyes): "I'd love you to do that, thank you for anything." They all get ready to walk down the aisle. The music starts again and the bridemaids walk down the aisle. Then Tim looks up the aisle to see Tamara walking down the aisle holding Ella on her hip as they were the flower girls, Tim starts to tear up seeing this sight. Once the girls got to the front Tim greeted them with a kiss on their cheeks.

Tim: "You girls look beautiful. I love you guys."

Tamara: "We love you too. If you are like this with us, you're gonna cry when you see mum." Tamara kisses his cheek as she then moves to the side with Ella. The music changes and the guest stands up to welcome the bride, everyone watches as Lucy walks down the aisle with Grey. Tim starts crying at how beautiful his 'wife' is and how much he loves her. The reach the end of the aisle and everyone takes their seats. Tim was very speechless and in awe of her. Grey kisses her on her cheek.

Grey: "Love you, Lucy. Tim, you better take good care of her." Grey and Tim shakes hands

Tim: "Yes sir I will, don't you worry. I love this women and will protect her with my life." The wedding begins. The guest were asked to see if anyone rejects the union and no one speaks. They get to the vows and Lucy goes first.

Lucy: "Tim, when I first met you, I remembered telling you that you were a pain in my ass. Over my rookie year that grow more. But after the kidnapping my feelings changed for you and over time they grew. I was so shut down and would never share anything about my personal life, but the moment you found out about my daughter you never judged me. You were one of the people that was by my side, willing to help in any way possible. You became a big part of mine and Tamara's life, taking Tamara out for a day allow me to have some quality time with my friends. You took Tamara in like your own, making sure she was always love and being the first man that she trusted. Then when we became a couple, you never rushed me into anything and made sure that I knew I was loved. You became my rock and I'm always safe whenever I'm with you. Then the custody battle, you never had second thoughts when Tamara wanted you to comfort her and never second guessed adopting her. No matter how old we all get, I know you will always treat Tamara like she is your own. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and spending our life together with our family we built. I love you so much." 

Tim eyes watered and the in was his turn. 

Tim: "Lucy, you have been my light in my life and saved me from my dark place after Isabel. You were never just another rookie I had to train, you were different. I grew closer to you and we became an unstoppable team. Everyone never stands a chance when we were riding together. I always had fun when we were together and then the days dragged out when you won't riding with me. You have been through so much and I cannot believe how much pain you went through. Your parents didn't do you any justice, never gave you a good life and that's what I aim to provide for you. I care so much for you and your daughter, seeing how happy you both were meeting each other for the first time, that was the first time I realised my feelings for you. Then once we started dating, I fell madly in love with you and I loved spending time with Tamara. I knew that I wanted this forever and wasn't sure when to ask you the question, but when I asked Tamara for her blessing I knew that this was forever. I said yes to adopting Tamara as I loved her so much and couldn't bare to see you suffer without having your daughter in your life. I love you so much." He smiles as the went to continue the wedding he interrupts.

Tim: "But I brought all of my love into this marriage and you brought a child. Tamara could you come here." Angela offers to take Ella from her and Tamara heads over, Tim crouches down to eye level with her before continuing.

Tim: "Your mother brought you into our relationship, I have loved you since the first day out together. I'm not just marrying your mum but I'm also marrying you. You will forever be apart of this family, and I will always love you. I don't care that you're not biologically mine but you're my daughter. I am so proud of you and also love how scared people get when you enter the room. You may not like it but here, open it." She opens it to reveal a beautiful necklace, it was a necklace she was looking at the day they were getting the locket for Lucy.

Tamara: "Thank you dad. But this is the necklace, how? Also does this mean I become a Bradford too?"

Tim: "You will officially be a Bradford if you want. As for the necklace, I went back after dropping you home and got it. This is a token of my love to you." She nods excitedly and hugs her dad before returning to her place with Ella. They exchange rings to each other. And with that, they were pronounced husband and wife, they kiss and walk back up the aisle with their kids. They all got ready for the reception.

They were welcomed in at the reception, everyone was dancing around and then after an hour of dancing it was time for the food and speeches. Everyone went around doing their speech, Grey finished his and went to pass the microphone over to the next person when her quickly says.

Grey: "Oh before I forget again, there's something I have to announce. Lucy when you come back your badge is completely wrong and so is your uniform." Lucy and everyone was confused, but of course Tim knows what is going on.

Grey: "I have been meaning to get back to you with your detective exam results but never found the right time. Here in this box is your results." He gives her the box and she opens it, removing the tissue paper over and then gasping.

Lucy: "No way. Is this for real."

Grey: "Oh yes it is ... Detective Bradford. You are going to be working with Angela and Nyla now, make sure you bring your casual clothes." Everyone congratulates Lucy, Lucy hugs Grey before turning to Tim.

Tim: "You did it Mrs Bradford." Everyone party the night away and headed home. Lucy, Tim and their kids were all laying on their bed together. The next morning, the newly wedded couple packed their bags as them and their kids are all going away. Lucy and Tim don't want a honeymoon, they want to be able to spend this time with the girls.
