Chapter 2: Friends and Doubt

Anne's POV

I sit back next to the pool at the hotel. It's only early June but it's never too early to try and get tan. I pick at the fraying edge of my shorts before leaning back letting my bare tummy soak up some sun. Being a natural red head, comes with having to fight Satan if I want even a partial tan. I pull my sunglass onto my nose and prop up my knees to continue reading my book, while Ed Sheeran hums through my head phones. I stay like that for a while before I feel a vibration on my stomach. I look down at my phone to see it's going off from a phone call. Answering I smirk.

"Yes?" I say knowing exactly who it is that is on the other end of the call.

"Oh my God where are you! I'm here at the hotel, and just!" She screams. I laugh and stand slipping my feet into flip flops and pulling on my knit blue tank top.

"I'm coming babe don't worry." I say and grab my book from the chair. Stepping into the hotel I continue to walk and notice some girls with cameras and posters standing outside the front entrance. I didn't notice that yesterday. I continue to walk and make my way towards the front.

"Where are you again?" I ask and I feel someone tap me on the shoulder. I turn and see my dark haired friend standing there. She hugs me and I feel her shaking with excitement.

"Oh my sweet Jesus this is not happening!" She says and I laugh at her enthusiasm. She is ecstatic and jumps from one foot to the other and I take her suitcase from her.

"What room did you get?" I ask and she rattles off the number. I follow her into the elevator. She continues to talk animatedly about how lucky I am and everything else, including the boys. She loves them with a passion and so do I but I know they hold a special place for her. As the elevator dings signaling we've reached the top floor we step out and Elisa leads the way to her room. Clicking her key in we step inside and she throws herself down onto the first queen bed. I laugh and sit down on the other. My mum already agreed that I could stay with Elisa as long as I met up with her for breakfast, lunch, dinner and let her know where I'm going. Granted tomorrow, we can only do breakfast together, because of my audition, and the concert, but I think she gets it.

"So tell me everything!" She says and I laugh.

"Well I walked into the elevator, and I asked Niall to push floor one but he didn't hear me, I think he was asleep, and Harry nudged him. That's when I knew who they were." I say and she grins like a child on Christmas day.

"And!" she says prying for details. I roll my eyes and uncross my legs.

"that's it. They have my phone number but we haven't texted yet. Liam said he'd let me know when the tickets came in and that's all I need to know." I say and Elisa smirks at me from under bangs.

"Please, I know you want to hook up with one of them!" She says and I can't help but laugh.

"Please babe, I've had one boyfriend, and you know how that ended." I say and she shrugs.

"Hey, it's One Direction. You can't expect me to not want to at least touch one of them!" She says and the dissolves into giggles. I laugh with her and then pull her up from her fetal position where she was previously laying.

"I think you better come with me." I say and she grins again.

"I'm just so excited! Do you know what seats we got?" She asks and I shrug.

"I don't know probably floor, but I don't know any more than that." I say and drag her alongside me to my room one floor down. The stair case is dark and poorly light with graffiti along the walls and a smoky scent in the air, but I'm not worried. Elisa follows me into my hall and into my room where Nicole is laying on the bed, probably on Instagram or twitter. She doesn't even look up when I enter.
