Two days later.

"Nana is coming to see you today!  You get to meet all of your grandparents, aren't you so so happy?" Jessica smiled to her very pouty baby.

"Well don't get so excited!" She laughs.

"Honey, they're here.  Should I check their negative covid tests at the door?"

Jessica gives Danny a look. "Daniel."

"I'm kidding!"

Danny walks over to let their parents in.

"Welcome!  You may enter, but the first stop is the sink so everyone can wash their hands."

"Of course!" Zoe says leading the way.

Everyone follows and Jessica enters the living room holding the baby.

Dorothy lays her eyes on her beautiful daughter.  Tears fill her eyes and she smiles. "My baby girl."

"Hi Momma." Jessica smiles.

"You're a Mommy!  Jessie, I am so proud of you.  You did it!"

"I did." Jessica's voice cracks. "And look.  She's beautiful."

Dorothy walks over and her tears roll down her cheeks uncontrollably. "She is the perfect mix of the both of you.  So so beautiful."

"Thank you.. Marlowe, can you say hello to Nana?"

"Aw baby girl.. You are such a light in.. a very dark and cruel world.  You were so needed."

6 Months later.  August 2021.

The world is slowly adjusting to this new normal everyone has been forced into.  Both vaccinated, Danny and Jessica have ventured out here and there all while still being extremely safe.

Today they are having lunch with Evan and Sarah.

Jessica opens the door to the backseat of Danny's new Dadmobile and finds a sleeping Marlowe.

"She always knocks out in the car!" Jessica chuckles and gently removes her and Marlowe begins to stir

"She always knocks out in the car!" Jessica chuckles and gently removes her and Marlowe begins to stir.

"She's gonna be mad at you for waking her up, Mommy."

"I know but I can't wait here until she decides she's done napping.  I'm sorry Marley, but that's not how things run around here."

The three make their way into the restaurant to find Evan and Sarah already seated.

"Hi!  Marley, it's aunt Sarah!" Sarah baby talks.

Jessica smiles and hands her over. "She might be a little grumpy.  I just woke her from her beauty rest."

"Aw!  Bad Mommy!"

Jessica giggles and takes a seat.

"So how are you two?!" She squeals. "You've been dating for almost a year! Congrats!"

"Thank you!" Evan and Sarah say in unison.  Since getting together the two have moved into a small home in a beautiful little neighborhood.

"How are you not pregnant yet?"

"Jessica!" Danny gently elbows her side.

Sarah laughs. "We know how to use a condom, unlike you two!"

"She's got us there, babe."

Jessica rolls her eyes. "For the last time, It was Daniel's fault!  Also, I have no regrets."

"Well how could anyone regret this little nugget?!" Sarah baby talks and Marlowe giggles.

Jessica smiles and squeezes Danny's thigh.

After a delicious meal the two couples were far from ready to leave.

"How crazy is our life now?" Sarah says. "Spring break a year ago we were all single best friends, now were all shacked up and you two have a baby!  And are getting married!  We're like all real adults now!"

"I know!  Speaking of the wedding.." Jessica smiles.

"Ooh!  Do we have a date?"

"We do!"

"Ahh!  Spill!"

"June 2022."

"AH, We're behind on so much already, we MUST start planning soon!"

Jessica laughs. "I know you're going to be the best maid of honor Sar, but remember we don't want a huge wedding."

"And Why Not?!"

"I'm a simple girl." Jessica shrugs.

"Yeah, I have always been the more flamboyant one of the group.  Well Jessica, it's going to be beautiful!  We do definitely need to set a time to look for dresses though.."

"Absolutely!  I've reached my pre baby weight and I am ready!"

Danny smiles and grabs Jessica's hand.

Sarah looks as though she might burst with excitement when she suddenly shouts, "YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!"

Marlowe babbles loudly and waves her hands.  The angry look in her eyes was hilarious.

"She did not like that." Evan laughs.

"Sorry." Jessica says looking down to her baby still giving aunt Sarah the stink face.  "She's a covid baby, they're used to being locked indoors and get frustrated very easily."

Hi!

I'm changing my original plan for this book.  When I began writing this story it was before May 2021... My entire life has changed since then.

I lost my Grandpa to covid that year so I will not be going down the "Sarah dies from covid long term effects" route.  Sorry drama lovers, and You're welcome to Sarah fans.

In 2021 I really wasn't doing anything other than going to work, and definitely no restaurants.  But re-reading this book has triggered me slightly.  I love Danny and Jessica's story, but the hospital and covid talk is very difficult for me.

I will do my best to give you guys, and these characters a good ending.  I am still open to drama, but for sure no death lol.
