Two days later.

Jessica grabbed her phone and went onto zoom for their daily chat.

Jessica signed on and for a moment it was just her.

"Where is everybody?" Jessica then texts Sarah and asks if she's going to be logging on.

"Sorry I'm a little late.  Woah, where is everyone?" Danny says.

"Hey Danny!  They're not on yet.  I just texted Sarah.  I figured Evan was busy with work."

"I'm sure he is.  Hey!  I got my Covid results!" He smiles.

"Me too!" Jessica shouts with excitement.

"I'm guessing you were negative?" He chuckles.

"Yep!  I'm clean!  You?"

"No Rona here!"

"Woo!  We need a celebratory drink."

"For sure!  So how's work going?"

"It's different.. it's difficult.  But it's alright.  Yours?"

"It's fine.  Just weird."

"Everything is a little weird these days."

"Everything!"

Just then Sarah logs in.

"Hey.." She says in a weak voice.

"Oh there you are!  How are you feeling?"

"Terrible." Sarah breathes heavily before she starts coughing.

"I just wanted to pop in and let you guys know I'm on my way to the hospital."

"What!  Why?"

"I can't get my fever down, I can barely breathe.. I need to go."

"Oh Sarah, I'm so sorry!  You go and get better!  Tell your mom to keep us updated if you're not feeling up to it."

"I will.. I love you guys so much."

"We love you too, Sar." Danny says.

"Yes!  So so much, Sarah!"

"Bye.." Sarah says with tears in her eyes.

"Bye.."

"Get well soon, Bug." Danny says.

"I'll try.."

Sarah leaves the meeting and once again she and Danny are alone.

Jessica buries her face in her hands and cries silently.
Danny just sat there for  moment.  He felt so bad for her.

"Jess?  You okay?"

Jessica sniffles.

"She's gonna be okay, Jessica."

Jessica wipes her cheeks. "She looks and sounds so bad.  Danny, we don't even know what this thing is.  No one knows what this is!  How are they gonna help her?"

"That's their job, sweetie.. they're gonna help her."

"I'm so scared for her." Jessica started crying even harder. "Why did we have to go out?  Why did she get this?  Sarah is my best friend!  I can't live without my best friend!"

"Jessie, we're not gonna lose her."

Jessica struggles to catch her breath.

"Jessica, breathe."

Jessica couldn't control herself and Danny panicked,
"Jessica!  Listen, I'm coming over right now."

"No, it's okay."

"I don't want you to be alone right now.  You're too upset."

"Okay.."

"You want me to stay on the phone with you until I get there?"

"Yes please.."

"Okay.  Want me to bring you anything?  Have you eaten?"

"No, I just got out of class.  But I'm not hungry anymore."

"I'm gonna bring you something, you have to eat."

"I can't I'm too upset, Danny!" Jessica cries.

"Okay, let me just get to you.  But I'm gonna make you something when I get there."

Jessica cries even harder. "I haven't gone to the grocery store!"

"I have left overs!  I'll bring em!"

"Okay.."

"Jess?"

"Yeah?"

"Love you."

Jessica sniffles. "Love you too.."
