#03 | TROUBLE
— but sometimes , boynextdoor
" No Mom, you don't understand! "

AFTER HAEUN HAD brushed her teeth, the feeling of hunger in her stomach had only grown further. She checked the time briefly on her phone. It was ten am.

She slipped into her favourite bunny slippers, dashing down the stairs in record speed. "Morning mom," she said, slipping past her mom who was busy making a coffee. "Oh Haeun. Did you download the app?" she asked.

"Yeah," Haeun said, opening the fridge and taking out some milk. She moved towards the pantry, tiptoeing to reach the high shelf. That's where her secret stash of fruit loops were.

"The app looks pretty good. Let's hope your hard work has paid of" Haeun said, pouring her milk in first and then adding the fruit loops after.

She manoeuvred her way around the kitchen islands and plopped down on the sofa, taking the remote into her hand. "Is dad at work?" she asked, and her mom nodded her head. "He left just before you came down."

Haeun turned on the TV, flicking through the channels. Nothing interesting was playing, just some children's cartoons and an old movie.

She flicked down one more channel. The news channel. "The new app, Sociobyte which was just released last night is already making waves in Korea and around the world." Haeun was about to skip the channel, but her ears perked up on the mention of the app's name.

"Cha foundations says that Sociobyte is the new all-inclusive social media platform, which allows users to post, interact with other posts, text other users, and use other special features like the "Find A Friend" and "Matchmaker" feature.

It's especially popular amongst teenagers and the younger generations, but is easily usable by anyone. It's simple and fun.

Cha foundations and the team behind Sociobyte have reportedly made over 15 million dollars after the apps launch-."

Haeun turned towards her mom, jaw dropped. "Mom, are you hearing this?!" she asked. "I was waiting for you to find out," her mom smiled. "Your fathers organising a dinner tonight to celebrates the app's success." She took a seat next to her daughter.

"I also followed up with your headmaster about your grades," she said and Haeun groaned. "Mom-!" she whined. "Haeun," her mom said sternly, and her daughter sighed. "Anyways, he said he can arrange a tutor for you. Do you know a girl called Han Hyeju?"
