PEP RALLIES were something Delilah loved, another reason for people to clap and praise her for her successes? Yes please. Plus, it was an added bonus that her and the team got to stand and gloat in their wins and shove it to the boys on the baseball team, who remained on a losing streak. Tyler always seethed playfully at Delilah when this happened.

"Allie. You all right?" Jackie asked, pulling away from painting the freshman's face. Delilah looked over from her spot at the mirror, a small hair clip in her hand, the other already pinned back, intended for holding the front pieces of her blonde locks away from her face.

"It's just a pep rally." Delilah rolled her eyes and scoffed lightly. Jackie again with her stupid pep talks. Delilah didn't know why she even tried with Allie, not like the ungrateful girl deserved it. "Honestly, I think the whole point is just to give freshmen something to jerk off to later."

Jackie chuckled, only then did she see Delilah's gaze in the reflection of the mirror behind Allie, staring scrutinisingly at the two. Her eyes were slightly narrowed, her hands busy with harshly pushing a clip through the top part of her hair. Jackie bit her inner cheek, returning the same look.

"Jackie." Lottie poked her head around the door, swinging around with one hand on the entrance way. Jackie and Delilah drew their gaze away to her. "Coach wants to see you in his office." She smiled tight lipped.

Jackie smiled one last time, before walking past Allie and handing the paint brush to Van, who took her place. The girl walked out the door, grinning at Lottie before she went thankfully.

"I'm not nervous. I'm the only freshman who got asked, you know." Allie said to Van, who raised her eyebrows. "I know." She murmured.

Allie didn't stop though, whining impatiently. "It's so unfair. My dress was gonna be amazing." She groaned. Delilah watched with a grimace, furrowed eyebrows and her hair flipped over her shoulder, finally done.

"Well, hey, at least you can wear it next year." Van said, ever the optimist. Delilah smiled gently at that.

Allie clearly didn't appreciate it."You don't get it, Van, 'cause nobody asked you." She snapped.

Van's jaw tightened and her eyebrows raised. Delilah scoffed, chuckling a bit incredulously. She leaned backwards, arms crossed. Who did she think she was?

"Okay, you're done." Van smiled falsely. Allie grinned, before walking out with no other words.

It was quiet for a bit, before Lottie guffawed and swung into the room fully. "Jesus Christ." She said, eyes wide.
