DELILAH AVOIDED everyones curious gazes as she sat down, Shauna obviously having just sat down herself. The attic had been done up very obviously by Jackie's eager command. Candles littered about and covered the floor, making the lighting encase the area as they all sat in a large circle.
Laura Lee, Tai and Coach had opted out of the experience, reasonably so. Delilah would've, having no wanted to suddenly go against what her parents were so for. Instead, she unclasped her necklace and handed it over to Laura Lee before going up.
Now she sat, between Lottie and Shauna, who stood as Jackie walked over with a blindfold in her hands. "Here, put it on." She thrust it towards Shauna, smiling.
Shauna nodded, not saying anything as she could feel the eyes from below on her as her hands tied the blindfold. Delilah watched Jackie walk away, swaying her hips. Jackie had managed to uphold her pretty girl ways, even while dressing like a little boy.
She came back with a bowl, dipping her fingers in the blood that Shauna had managed to salvage from the deer, before what happened earlier. "O Jackie: O keeper of this wild and hidden place... we anoint ourselves with blood and earth." She said, making Delilah pull a face.
Jackie went to make a cross on Shauna's forehead, who was none the wiser and didn't grimace the way that Travis did when Jackie went to hand it to him. "Here. It's just dirt and deer blood. Classic witch recipe. Relax."
Travis took it with a sigh. Jackie moved to sit down with an excited grin that caused Delilah to tilt her head. She raised her arms and breathed in. Misty immediately went to copy her, but stopped as she saw the look Delilah was sending Jackie's way.
"O spirit, we offer our sister as your instrument. Come to us and speak your peace." Jackie said. The bowl made its way to Delilah, who took it and dipped her finger, smearing the blood on her forehead in a cross. She handed it over to Lottie next and listened in.
"It is I, Jacques." There was stifled laughter as Shauna spoke. She cleared her throat after a subtle grin. "Jacques." She said in a deeper voice. Delilah pursed her lips as Jackie looked around hopelessly, seeming a bit disappointed at everyone's laughter.
"Ask your questions. The pendulum will answer them." Van cleared her throat and spoke up. "Okay. Dear dead hunter guy... did O.J. do it?" Shauna peeked up from the blindfold, making Delilah smile slightly as she did.
"Come on, guys. Real questions." Delilah rasped, seeing Jackie's face lighten at her words. "The veil is thin between our two planes. Ask what is in your heart." Shauna said.
lI'll go. Is Principal Berzonsky screwing Ms. DeWine?" Mari spoke up, earning some chuckles. The pendulum swung. "It is certain." Delilah rolled her eyes at Shauna's tone, hiding her grin.
