Chapter 29 Return to Nagazora Part 2

Shinji Ikari is seen taking a tea kettle and pours boil water in two cups preparing warm tea, he takes the two cups and gives one to Mei.

Mei:"Thank you, Shinji-kun"

Shinji:"No problem, Where is Tesla-sensei at?"

Mei:"Tesla is checking on the orphans she was surprise that this children had incompletes Stigmas and is finding if they are life threatening to them"

Mei takes a sip from the tea as Shinji does the same, Mei is still surprise of Shinji change he had told her and Tesla that this change is due to fully awakening the power of the Ikari Stigma however this new power up is a double edge sword. Though Shinji has grown more powerful it also leaves him more vulnerable to Surtur taking over his body, Shinji has stated that there have been more multiple attempts by Surtur to take over his body.

He couldn't even sleep anymore, resorting to meditation while resting for the night. Mei felt sorry for Shinji for going through so much in his life, she was glad that he was alright and if Shinji was here in Nagazora that meant that Kiana was also here.

Mei:"I have being wondering how did you get here?"

Shinji takes one sip and explains.

--Flashback--

Shinji:"Kiana and I were able to escape the facility that Otto kept us, but the sandstorms and hot environment took our energy"

Shinji and Kiana are seen wondering through the desert, both tired and dying of thirst. Shinji falls to his knees, Kiana tries to help him but, she too falls from exhaustion as the two lose concious Shinji could hear Kiana say something.

Kiana:"Mei-senpai..."

Shinji:"We both lose concious, but suddenly I felt something wet and cold hitting my face"

Shinji is seen suddenly waking up from feeling water in his face, he looks to see water and he drinks it he then begins to look around and sees that he is no longer in the desert and Kiana wasn't there.

--End of Flashback--

Shinji:"When I woke up, I was no longer in the desert and was here, then I met Sora and took me here. I have being trying to look for Kiana, but couldn't find anything"

Shinji takes a sip of his tea, a sad expression appears on Mei's face of what has happened then she ask him a question.

Mei:"Have you seen this "Sensei"?"

Shinji moves his head sideways.

Shinji:"No, from what they've told me she would've come back here every month or two. I have being helping the children here to survive, the Honkai Beast numbers are increasing and I have being doing the best I can to protect them"

Mei looks surprise at Shinji, even though he was at the edge of becoming into Herrscher he still wants to protect people and when he said he hasn't sleep because of Surtur makes her soul cry. Mei hugs Shinji surprising him.

Shinji:"... Mei"

Mei:"It's okay, Shinji-kun. You can release all of it"

When she said those words his cup falls from his hands and then he starts crying as he hugs her back. After everything he has being through since Arc City, Shinji Ikari finally cries.

Meanwhile back on Tokyo-3

Kensuke:"Damn..."
