The trio were being thrown around the Tardis, all of them subjected to the Doctor's terrible driving skills.
"Hold that one down!" He yelled to Rose, pointing at a lever on the console halfway from her.
"I'm holding this one down!" She yelled back at him. Gesturing to the blue lever that she was holding down at the moment with an exasperated expression.
"Red, I need you to hold down that lever" He pointed to the same lever. Laura looked up from her place at the monitor beside the Doctor.
"How can I do that!?" She yelled, hanging onto the monitor for dear life. "I'm on the other side of the console!"
"What are you doing over here?" He asked, confused.
"I Dinnae ken! You said," she puffed out her chest and put on a northern accent, mocking the Doctor. "'Red, I need you over here. Now don't do something stupid like move about. You have a very important job, now just hold on.' And then you left me here and now here we are."
"You can't deny Doctor, that sounds just like you!" Rose laughed though it sounded more crazed as the Tardis jostled then about.
"Well I must have had a good reason,"he shrugged. "So stay there." He pointed at Laura, then turned to point at Rose. "I need you to hold down both those levers."
"Its not going to work!" Rose yelled, having to subject to using her foot to reach the lever.
"Oi! I promised you a time machine, Rose, and that's what you're getting. Now, you've seen the future, let's have a look at the past. 1860. How does 1860 sound?"
"What happened in 1860?" Rose asked.
"I don't know, let's find out. Hold on, here we go!" The Doctor pulled another lever down and the whole Tardis shook harder than it had been before, and that was saying a lot.
Laura got thrown into the Doctor, who caught her around the waist. But another last shake of the Tardis sent everyone down to the grating as she landed. The trio laughed on the ground. Laura's head was laying on the Doctor's chest, while one of his arms was still wrapped around her waist, holding her to his side. After a good laugh the Doctor got up. Inadvertently pulling Laura to sit up with him.
"Blimey!" Rose said, holding a hand to her stomach which hurt from laughing so hard.
"You ok red?" The Doctor asked, holding out a hand to help her up. She took it and he swiftly pulled her up. She was not expecting this sudden transition and stumbled a little coming very close to the Doctor's face.
"Aye, I'm alright. Are you?" She asked, quickly stepping back, her face heating up from the proximity.
"Now that was one hell of a landing."Rose had a knowing smirk on her face.
Moving a safe distance from each other. The Doctor rubbed the back of his neck with his hand."You're telling me. Are you all right?"
"Yeah. Nothing broken. Did we make it? Where are we?" The trio moved to the monitor, the screen showed their location in Circular Gallifreian.
"I did it. Give the man a medal. Earth, Naples, December 24th, 1860." However, Laura knew that this is not what the screen said, or where they were, she just felt it.
"Not just yet Doc," Laura placed a hand on the man's arm in pity, "Maybe one day you'll get it right."
"That's so weird. It's Christmas." Rose interrupted the Doctor's confused, and offended, look aimed at Laura.
"All yours." He held his arm out gracefully towards the door, offering her to go out.
"But, it's like, think about it, though. Christmas. 1860. Happens once, just once and it's gone, it's finished, it'll never happen again. Except for you, Doctor. You can go back and see days that are dead and gone a hundred thousand sunsets ago. No wonder you never stay still."
