Laura took off out of the room and down the hallway. She saw the Doctor kneeling on the ground. Assuming the worst, she ran to him, not knowing if he was shot.

When she got closer she saw the body of the pig, lying on the ground with a small puddle of blood collecting around it. Laura sighed and knelt down next to the man, resting a hand on his shoulder.

He turned to her with a sad expression. "It was scared Laura. It was scared and they shot it dead." He said, though his voice wavered with emotion. He had the biggest heart, well, hearts.

"I know doc, they weren't thinkin'." She gave him a hug which he returned. Holding onto her tightly, she felt such strong emotions of pain and sadness, almost as if it was radiating from him. The emotion almost felt like her own, though it didn't. It was unfamiliar. She rubbed his back soothingly and felt him melt under her touch, the strong emotions she felt fading away as more time passed.

After the much needed hug the Doctor let go of Laura and scooped up the pig and stood, Laura followed him as he took it back to the mortuary and laid it down on the table. He tied his best to explain to the Dr what was really happening here. Though Laura had to do most of it because the Doctor was too upset, more angry then sad at this point.

"I just assumed that's what aliens look like, but you're saying it's an ordinary pig from Earth." Dr Soto said

"More like a mermaid. Victorian showmen used to draw the crowds by taking the skull of a cat, glueing it to a fish and calling it a mermaid." Laura explained.

"Now someone's taken a pig, opened up its brain, stuck bits on, then they've strapped it in that ship and made it dive bomb. It must've been terrified. They've taken this animal and turned it into a joke." The Doctor sneered, whoever did this to this poor animal must have been sick. Sending an innocent, terrified, animal to crash land. It was disgusting and it made him sick.

"So it's a fake, a pretend, like the mermaid. But the technology augmenting its brain, it's like nothing on Earth. It's alien. Aliens are faking aliens. But why would they do that?" Dr Soto looked up to see that Laura and the Doctor were gone. "Doctor? Laura?"

Back at the Tyler's flat they were still celebrating the alien contact. "Here's to the Martians!" Jackie toasted the massive group of people that were still there.

Everyone, except Rose who sat on the settee still watching the tv, raised their glass. "The Martians!" Everyone quieted quickly when Mickey run through the door. An awkward tension fell over the room, nobody really knowing what to say.

"I was going to come and see you." Rose said sheepishly, her mother hadn't let her out of her sight since she got back. And maybe she had gotten so caught up with that, as well as Laura and the Doctor, that she might have forgotten about him. Just a little.

"Someone owes Mickey an apology." Ru said with a raised brow.

"I'm sorry." Rose apologised, thinking that was who she was talking about.

"Not you." Ru said and turned to Jackie, folding her arms.

"Well, it's not my fault." Jackie started. "Be fair. What was I supposed to think?"

Rose grabbed Mickey and left to the kitchen to talk in a more private setting. Jackie followed them also needing to apologise to Mickey. There was tense silence for a while, neither of them knew how to start.

"You disappear, who do they turn to? Your boyfriend." Mickey said. "Five times I was taken in for questioning. Five times. No evidence. Course, there couldn't be, could there? And then I get her," He pointed an accusatory finger at the woman. "Your mother, whispering around the estate, pointing the finger. Stuff through my letterbox, and all 'cos of you."
