"They said we were enemies. But in truth, I was in love with you. And I think secretly, you were in love with me too."
"You need two hands for that?"
"It's too big"
He smirks at me.

Gloria couldn't believe what had just transpired in the school corridor. The memory of that unexpected kiss lingered in her mind, and she couldn't shake off the rush of emotions it had unleashed. As she entered the classroom, she tried to focus on the lesson, but her mind was a chaotic swirl of thoughts.
Sitting in her usual spot, she stole a quick glance at Dean, who seemed equally lost in his thoughts. The tension between them was palpable, and the atmosphere in the classroom felt charged with an unspoken energy.
Unable to resist, Gloria whispered, "Dean, about what happened..."
Dean's eyes widened, and he cut her off, "Let's not talk about it, okay? It's..It's..it makes me feel..idk..weird."
Gloria nodded, feeling the weight of awkwardness settle between them. The rest of the class seemed to drag on as they both struggled to concentrate on the lesson. The proximity only intensified their discomfort.
A few seats away, their classmates exchanged curious glances, sensing the unusual tension between Gloria and Dean. Whispered conversations buzzed around them, adding an extra layer of unease to the atmosphere.
As the teacher continued the lesson, Gloria found it impossible to keep her eyes off Dean. Every stolen glance was met with a mix of embarrassment and intrigue. She couldn't help but wonder if he felt the same way.
The next day :
The next day arrived with a peculiar mix of anticipation and uncertainty for Gloria. As she entered the classroom, she couldn't help but stare at Dean, who seemed to be "studying" to deliberately avoid eye contact.
Gloria hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to break the ice. "I guess ive gone mad ,cause Im seeing you, Dean Yazdan ..STUDYING?!" she whisper-yelled
Dean didn't say anything nor look up at her. Gloria sighed ."Scaredy cat."The atmosphere was charged with unspoken tension from the previous day's events. As she settled awkwardly into her seat right beside him, Dean shot her a quick, almost imperceptible smirk, the kind that hinted at an inside joke only they shared. Gloria ignored him and muttered under her breath. "Such a Bitch."
The teacher began the class, and Gloria tried to focus on the lesson, but her mind kept drifting back to the kiss and the awkward aftermath. Glancing at Dean, she noticed a playful glint in his eyes, and a smirk played on his lips.
Unable to resist the temptation, Gloria whispered, "Hey,aren't you gonna say sorry for yesterday?"
Dean raised an eyebrow, his playful demeanor returning. "Sorry? I thought you were the one who didn't even wanna talk about it."
Gloria rolled her eyes, a smirk of her own forming. "Typical. Always avoiding the main topic. So are back to good again?"

The playful banter continued throughout the class, as if the kiss and the awkwardness that followed were suddenly erased from their shared history. The tension that had hung in the air was replaced by a familiar sense of rivalry.
As the bell rang to signal the end of the class, Dean leaned over and whispered, "See you at lunch, clumsy."
"Later...Mr.Bitch" Gloria chuckled, n playfully rolled her eyes as she stood up n walked towards her friends
And just like that, they parted ways, each carrying the unspoken understanding that yesterday's events were tucked away in a corner. The unusual thing that happened had, for the moment, given way to the familiar rhythm of their playful bickering.

Weeks rolled by, and Gloria and Dean's whole "enemies to sorta friends" vibe was getting kinda wild. It was like, every time they bumped into each other, it got awkward and some times all cool.
One day, as they found themselves paired up for a class project, Dean couldn't help but ask, "Who would've thought we'd end up working together?"
Gloria playfully sighed, "I prayed for this not to happen."
Dean coos " Don't lie..I know you 'prayed' for you to be with mee. "
Gloria shot back sarcastically , "Yeah, yeah. Don't let it get to your head, though. We're just getting lucky."
Gloria :
Our laughs were echoing in the library, and I could feel people side-eyeing us. Whatever, we were having a good time.
The hesitant friendship that had blossomed over the weeks now stood on the edge of something more significant; just as they started to navigate the uncharted territory of their changing relationship, news of the impending closure of the school began to circulate due to the escalating COVID pandemic.
In the empty hallway we exchanged a more serious goodbye than usual. "Stay safe, okay?" Dean said, like he actually cared.
"You too, Dean," I said, trying not to sound bummed. It was like our story hit pause right when it was getting interesting.
Walking away, he yelled, "We'll catch up when things chill out!"
I just chuckled and nodded, like we had some secret pact. The school hallways felt empty, but our unfinished story was lingering, waiting for the next chapter. I was left wondering where the heck this unexpected weird virus was gonna take us , and even if Dean and i would ever talk again..

The abrupt end to the semester left them with an unfinished story, and the uncertainty of the times on their minds.
As they walked away in opposite directions, the words left unsaid hung in the air.

"His whisper faded away,
Echoes of a fleeting bond,
will new names ever ,
find their place ;in my heart ? "
