Viola POV :
The first day of the new semester started like any other high school cliché - a mix of nerves, excitement, and the perennial question of what the next few months would unfold. As I navigated through the crowded hallways, thoughts of classes, friends, and potential romantic entanglements filled my mind.
And then, as if fate itself decided to inject a dose of unexpected drama, I bumped into a wall. "Who the heck places a wall here?" I muttered, rubbing my forehead.
"Uh... ehm," a deep voice interrupted my self-pity party. The wall moved, and to my surprise, it wasn't a wall at all. It was a guy. Fantastic. My face turned fifty shades of embarrassed.
"Sorry," we blurted out simultaneously, our voices in perfect harmony. I couldn't help but giggle at the absurdity of the situation.
But he had this cold, indifferent demeanor, but those starless eyes told a different story. We exchanged a nod, and as we walked on, there was this unspoken understanding. The first-day awkwardness transformed into a shared moment of laughter.
As the guy disappeared into the sea of students, I couldn't help but wonder if this accidental collision was the prologue to something more.
I spotted Glory in the bustling hallway and waved excitedly. To my delight, she returned the gesture with a smile that could light up the entire school. The realization hit us like a bolt of lightning - we were in the same classes this semester!
Glory and I practically squealed with delight, our voices echoing down the bustling hallway.
"Oh my gosh, Glory, we're in the same classes!" I exclaimed, barely able to contain my excitement.
Glory's eyes widened, mirroring my enthusiasm. "No way! This is incredible!"
We shared a quick, celebratory high-five, our smiles beaming brighter than ever. However, our joy seemed to draw the attention of nearby students, their curious gazes turning towards us.
I chuckled, waving off their stares. "Looks like we're the talk of the hallway for today!"
Glory giggled, brushing off the attention. "Who cares? This is too good to worry about what anyone else thinks!"
I nodded in agreement, feeling a surge of excitement. "Absolutely! We're going to ace this semester together!"
Later, as I recounted the incident to Glory, she burst into laughter and teased me mercilessly. "Oh my goodness, I really wanted to see your n 'the wall guy's face'...Imagine someone just bumps into you and calls you a freakin wall. I would just wanna die right there." she exclaimed, unable to contain her amusement.
Rolling my eyes, I defended myself, "Hey, it wasn't my fault!? He was the one who stood in the way; even if it wasn't me , anyone would've have done that."
Glory's laughter echoed in response, "Only you, Viola. Only you would've done that!
As we walked, our conversation buzzed excitingly. The stares from other students faded into the background as we focused on the thrilling prospect of tackling the new semester side by side.
After all, what's high school without a little spontaneous celebration and the comfort of a trusted friend by your side?
I thought Glory and I would make our grand entrance into class together, but it turned out she had to drop her little sister off at her class. With a parting wave, she explained, "Family duty calls! I'll catch up with you inside, alright?"
