"Paradise is the first lie sold by the false prophets of the void century"
In an office at the Longtown Marine Base, a man sits in front of a desk full of papers that appear crucial due to the classified logo, bounties, and newspaper articles. Holding a Den Den Mushi, he brings it close to his ears. His foot taps the ground every second he waits, irritated and tense, a catapult of emotions rages in his mind.
"Here, Marineford is at your disposal," stated a masculine voice on the snail phone.
"Here, Captain Smocker of Longtown Marine Base, could you please hang up the phone call to your superior quickly?" Smocker responds coolly, looking at the wall ahead of him.
"Sorry, sir but we can't just hang up you to our superior, they are surely occupied, a mere captain like you can't-"
Smocker strikes his hand hard on the desk beneath him, cutting off the officer on the phone.
"I have the most vital information that must be transmitted quickly. So you'll listen to me and transfer the call if you don't want your impertinence to land you in the darkest prisons for high treason. You hear me, idiot?" Smocker screams into the phone, enraged at the marine's ludicrous actions.
"Immediately, sir-" the man cried hurriedly.
After five beeps, another voice responds, "This is Fleet Admiral Sengoku. What is the critical information, young man?" I hope it's important, otherwise I'll arrest you for defamation."
"I could never, Fleet Admiral Sengoku. That information pertains to Dazai, the executive of the Port Mafia underground organization, Fleet Admiral!"
As the Fleet Admiral stood up in horror, the snail phone made a loud noise.
"I'm listening to you, captain."
"I faced her at around 10 a.m.; she had crimson eyes, long black hair, and skin as white as a ghost. The worst thing is that she appears to have joined a new group of pirates called straw hat pirates."
"A group of pirates?!" gasps the fleet Admiral.
"They managed to escape with the assistance of Dragon, the Revolutionary Army's supreme commander. But I also have multiple testimonials from residents and marines present at the time when Monkey D. Luffy was about to be executed by the Buggy pirate, that a dark mass filled half of the sky above and destroyed the execution platform."
"This dark mass-" started Sengoku,
With a sharp intake of breath, Smocker says, "Indeed, Fleet Admiral. It's the same mass that is the origin of the disappearance and annihilation of countless islands."
As a rookie Marine, Smocker was one of many who found himself at sea to carry out a duty that had been assigned to them when he first saw this catastrophic force.
The sea shook, ready to consume them all raw, the dark sky rocked above their heads, and then they were just a few kilometers from an island that served as their mission point and where half of his comrades awaited them.
The sky split in two over the same island, revealing a dark mass that quickly landed on the island, leaving nothing, completely nothingness. His comrades perished, and there were no corpses or evidence of their existence, simply a vacuum.
His blood and the hair on his arms raised with dread as he recalled this nightmare, which felt like it happened yesterday.
"Listen carefully, Captain Smocker, you will track down those new pirates and bring us Dazai; this is your new only duty, do you understand? For your courage and commitment, you will receive one of the finest rewards the world has to offer. For the time being, we will keep this between us because if the ranks find out that Dazai has reappeared among a bunch of pirates, the world will be a massacre; for now, let us attempt to avoid instilling terror in the public. It is a very confidential mission; for my part, I will send spies and assassins to capture it, and I know precisely the people for the job. The capture of Dazai is one of the most important in the world, delivering it half-dead, limbless, blind, and we don't mind! But you must bring it to our feet, do you hear me?!?" demands the Fleet Admiral, his voice intense and brutal.
