Chapter 5 part 2

"Let's go find some buckets." Yuuken sighed as Akaza wordlessly followed him. Grim ran to catch up after he realized the two were leaving without him.

"It feels like something will come out..." Yuuken trailed off, feeling as if he was being watched. His broad shoulders were tensed as he carefully watched the hall around him. The hallway was just as decrepit as the outside of the dorm and the lounge area was. However, the clouds were as this as they were a few minutes ago. She did not have to press herself against the wall to avoid the sunlight from the uncovered windows.

"I think I heard something just then." Akaza said with a cruel smile. She felt a small bit of glee at Grimm flinching in fear, the small bit of revenge satisfactory.

"Hihihihi.... Ihihihihi..." A low voice rattled through the hall, sending shivers down Grimm and Yuuken's spines. Akaza narrowed her eyes, looking around for the source. "It's been a while since we've gotten a guest!"

"I'm itching to work out!" A second, equally eerie voice spoke, spooking Grimm further and putting Yuuken even more on edge. Grabbing Akaza's arm, Yuuken pulled her behind him as he wildly looked around for the source of the voices.

"Ihihihihi!" A third voice laughed as the voices reveled themselves. They were three ghosts, one skinny, one average weight, and one chubby. They all were wearing fancy top hats and mischievous expressions.

    "There it is." Akaza said, eyes narrowed. She had never seen a ghost, much less fought one. She didn't know if her punches would even land on them.

    "What are you being so loud for..." Grimm started as he turned around. He froze when he saw the ghosts, his fur standing on end as he drew in a sharp breath before unleashing a shrill screech. "GYA－－－－－!!! G-g-g-g-go... ghoooooooooooooost!!!"

    "Everyone who lived here all got scared of us and left." The average sized ghost said as it floated around the group of three.

    "We're always looking for new ghost comrades." The chubby ghost said, also circling the group. Grimm pressed himself into Akaza's leg, squeezing his eyes shut. Yuuken kept his focus on the specters, alternating between carefully watching them to occasionally checking on Akaza and Grimm. Akaza just stood there as she blankly watched the ghosts. The chubby ghost floated towards the group, inches from Grimm's face. "What about you joining us?"

    "Uuu, uuuuhーー! The great magician Grimm-sama isn't scared of ghosts!" Grimm shouted as his head peaked out from behind Akaza's leg. His eyes were screwed shut in fear and he took in a deep breath to unleash the flames licking his throat. "Funna～～!!"

"Where are you looking at?" The thin ghost taunted Grimm, causally floating feet away from where Grimm spewed fire. The flames landed on a curtain which soon was set ablaze, Akaza sent a punch towards the curtain. The wind from her blow put out the flames. She leaned against the wall as she watched Grimm blindly spew fire, Yuuken's panicked expression as he tried to figure out a solution, and the ghosts delighting in the entertainment they were receiving from the chaos.

"We're here, here! Hihihihihi!" The chubby ghost said, expression full of mischief.

"Shit! Stop appearing and disappearing like that!" Grimm shouted, stomping a furry paw on the dusty carpet. He sneezed as the cloud of dirt rose from the disturbance.

    "If this continues, the building's going to catch on fire." Yuuken mumbled as he watched Grimm, think of what to do.

    "Do you always close your eyes when you make the fire appear?" Akaza asked, eyebrow twitching. She didn't want the building to burn down, currently this was her only place to stay and there was no guarantee the Headmaster would give her a place to stay that had few windows. Ramshackle Dorm was her best chance of not burning to death and she did not want to lose it.

"Shut up, don't order me around!" Grimm shouted back at Yuuken, mistakenly turning his head in the opposite direction of where Yuuken was standing.

    "When one has achieved victory, there'd be a tuna can as a prize." Yuuken spoke jokingly as if he was a sage from a fantasy novel. He figured since Grimm looked like a cat, he would like the same things cats would like. Maybe tuna would be the perfect motivation?

    "What...!?" Grimm's eyes shot open at the mention of the canned fish. He quickly scowled to hide his interest and crossing his arms. "Gununu... I-I'm a genius, you know. I can finish these guys by myself..."

"Ihihihihi!" All three ghosts laughed in sync.

"There's so many of you, cowards～!" Grimm scowled as he refused to look at the ghosts.

    "Now, I'll even add another tuna can to the prize." Yuuken offered again. He saw Grimm's poorly hidden intrest and he planned to use it. Since the cat refused to help with the leaks, he could help with the ghost problem.

    "Gununu..." Grimm growled before looking back at Yuuken. He avoided making eye contact with Akaza as she calmly leaned against the wall while watching the rain out the window. "Oi, you! Tell me where the ghosts are!"

"It appeared on your left!" Yuuken shouted as Grimm spun his head spewing his flames at the ghost. His eyes were tightly shut as he relied on Yuuken to be his temporary eyes. Akaza watched from the corner of her eye, mildly interested in seeing the outcome of the fight.

"Hot, hot, hot!!" The skinny ghost said in shock as Grimm's flames touched its side.

"Ah, it hit!" Grimm yelled in celebration, he still refused to open his eyes though. "Alright, we're gonna drive them away just like this!"

"Let's finish off the ghosts!" Yuuken shouted, striking the dramatic protagonist pointing pose™️

"Funaa!! Funa, funaaaaa!!" Grimm spat fire constantly sadly still missing the ghosts.

"It's not hitting us at all, hihihi!" The ghosts teased as they circled Grimm, large grins on their faces and cackling in glee.

"Uu... oi, you! Speak in a louder voice! I can't hear you at all!" Grimm addressed Yuuken among the chaos. Yuuken said nothing as he watch the ghosts to figure out if they had any patterns he could exploit. "Yeah! I thought, I'm a great magician! This Grimm-sama doesn't need any directions from a mere human! Nyahahaha!

"Booooooo!!" The chubby ghost popped up behind Grimm.

"Funaaa!???" Grimm jumped in surprise. His fur stood on end as he hid behind Yuuken's leg. "Oooooooooi, you! If the ghost is going to appear, tell me! Funaa!!" Grimm continued to spew fire left and right indiscriminately. Akaza boredly watched from the sidelines, occasionally sending lazy punches in the direction of the loose flames to make sure that the dorm wasn't burnt to the ground during the fight.

"Hot, hot, hot!" The chubby ghost and the medium size ghost said, they were close enough that Grimm could hit both of them at once.

"A-amazing! It's working!" Grimm exclaimed, he turned towards where he thought Yuuken was (again the completely wrong direction). "Oi, you! What do I do next?"

"Finish them all in on go! To your left!" Yuuken shouted.

"Okay! Fununununu.... eat this!!!" Grimm shouted as he spit flames at the ghosts.
