2. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood

Chapter 2

"Luna..."
"Luna..."
"Luna..."

I wake up to the sound of my name being called by a familiar voice. I slowly sat up from my lying position. My head hurt. Well actually my whole body ached from head to toe, but my head hurt the most. I opened my eyes and looked around. This is not my room! Then I remembered what happened and calmed down a bit. Grover was next to me.

"Nice pants" I muttered looking down at is light brown curly pants. Then I looked closer and saw that he wasn't wearing pants and he had two small horns sticking out of his head. "Your a faun!" I shouted in realization. "Satyr actually. Fauns are Roman," he said in displeasure. "What's going on?" I asked.

"Do you know anything about Greek mythology?" asked Grover. "You mean gods and monsters and stuff. Yes I know a bit." I said still not understanding. "They're real. The gods, monsters, heroes, they're all real." explained Grover. He was looking at me like I was going to attack him any minute. I took a minute to process this information. 'This must be a joke. I mean gods?' I thought to myself. Then I remembered that Minotaur that attacked us. That was definitely real, so I guess he wasn't lying. "Ok. But still, what has that got to do with anything?" I asked. "You are a demigod, half god, half mortal." I just sat there not even blinking.

Then I burst "What!? Me half god? Does that mean I've got powers? Wait! Who's my godly parent?" "We don't know yet," said a voice by the door. It was man on a horse. No it was centaur.

"Luna, which parent did you live with at home?" asked the centaur. "Neither, I was left at an orphanage before I turned 2," I said. "Mmmm.." said the centaur, scratching his beard. "Oh! Excuse my manners, I'm Chiron, the activities director of Camp Half-Blood!" said the centaur with a big smile. "Chiron?! As in trainer of Hercules? That Chiron?!", I asked in astonishment. Chiron gave me a nod. He then turned his attention to Grover, who was sitting quietly next to me. "Grover, please take Miss Olympus to Mr D and then give her a tour of camp," said Chiron who then walked out. Grover helped me out of bed and led me out of the hospital-room-place.

On the way to the 'big house' I took a few looks at the camp. Wow! This place is amazing. They've got an arena, a rock climbing wall with LAVA and a nice strawberry field. We arrived at the big house. The house was indeed big, with faded blue paint and a porch. On the porch sat a man. "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood" said the man with absolutely no enthusiasm. I took a better look at him. He wore a leopard print jogging shorts, a purple shirt and had a slightly pinky-purple nose. He had a strange aura and I instantly knew he was a god. "Lord Dionysus!" I said bowing. He raised on eyebrow "So you recognize me? What is your name?"

"Luna Destiny Olympus" I answered getting up. "OK then Lucy Festiny Olympiny. It's a pleasure to meet you." He said with sarcasm dripping of his words. "Ah, Sir it's Luna Destiny Olympus" I corrected. "That's what I said, Lucy. Now be gone" was his response. He walking back into the big house. "Don't mind Mr D. He always gets the names wrong" said Grover,while walking away. I followed him and he showed me around. He also introduced me to some of the campers he knew.

He then took me to the Hermes cabin, where I'd be staying until I was claimed. There I saw Chelsea talking to twins. "Lu!" she shouted and gave me a bear hug. "Great to see you're awake. This is Connor and Travis Stoll, the Hermes cabin councillors." she said introducing me. "Welcome to camp. There is an empty bed at the back, with supplies on top!" said one. "Thanks!" I said and walked to the back bunks. In the bag was a camp T-shirt, jeans and toiletries. Next to it was another bag, that I recognized. It was the one Miss Grennis gave Grover. That reminded me to tell Miss Grennis that I was safe. I'll do that later. In the bag was a photo album, money, my mp3 and some of my clothes. I mentally thanked her and went to change.
