Krithika could feel her heart hammering against her chest as her eyes took in the artifact of masculine charm standing in front of her. With a light smile and a few golden glitters dancing in his eyes, Xavier looked nothing like a normal man—nothing human.

Her breaths quickened, a desperate attempt to fight back the raw, gut-deep attraction that man evoked in her. She was losing—no, she was fucking defeated—when he flashed that grin and those damn dimples carved their way into his cheeks.

Oh, fuck! Her mouth went dry, and her tongue darted out to wet her lips.

"Like what you see?" he asked, his voice low, followed by a wink that could melt stone.

As much as she wanted to slap the arrogance off his face, she knew he wasn't entirely to blame. She did like the damn show he was putting on.

Stupid! Gathering her senses, she replied, "I don't understand what you're saying, sir."

"No problem," he tilted his head, eyes scanning her like she was a fucking painting, from top to bottom, "But I sure as hell like what I see, sweetheart."

WHAT?

He leaned in closer—just close enough, "I see a captivating beauty in front of me." He smirked as her eyes widened.

What kind of game is he playing? Clearing her throat, she managed to mutter, "Whatever you say." She added, more reluctantly, as he raised an eyebrow, "Sir..."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk..."

Three rounds of the game had been completed. She had successfully stayed as far away as possible and had not fallen out of the paper.

It was the fourth round when her eyes darted down, trying to find the edges, and she noticed that it was closing in on him.
