In the blink of an eye, time had slipped away.

Before Xavier could even realize it, he was being jostled to the stage by Krishna and Karthik. The center of the stage was adorned with flowers and the Homam Kund, billowing smoke so thick that he feared he might faint before marrying his beloved. As if the smoke weren't overwhelming enough, the Pandits present there continued to pour ghee aggravating the situation in hand and chanting incomprehensible shlokas.

Does anyone ever stop to ask them if they are reciting it correctly or if it's just a random blabbering session? He thought.

"Call the bride!" One of the Pandits screeched amidst heavy chanting.

The wedding was a grand affair. "Outrageously Extravagant"- that was the term to fit the description.

What happened to the concept of plain and simple court marriage?

Well, well, well...

Upon Krithika's family's approval, Satya had taken it upon herself to spare no expense and organize a Big Fat Indian wedding for Xavier and Krithika. When she had been questioned about her decision, she had simply remarked, "The CEO of the Xhasis deserves a wedding fit for a Maharaja."

Satya and Alisha had meticulously planned every detail, brimming with excitement for reasons that had been beyond Xavier's understanding. To top it off, Samiksha and Farhan had been the main individuals responsible for managing miscellaneous work and had taken charge of guest accounts with infectious enthusiasm.

Xavier's heart had filled with immense gratitude, despite his occasional confusion over the extensive guest list- half of whom he didn't remember at all, and wasteful indulgence in dresses or a few other things that didn't make sense to him.

After burning a few crores into ashes, Satya had concluded that it was just enough to be called a royal wedding, to which Valmiki had chuckled. "Do you rich people ever get tired of expending money like swiping toilet papers off your ass?"

To which she had retorted, "Not your wedding or funds, so it's better to keep your mouth shut."

And he had laughed heartily. "Oh my love, butt cheeks get rashes, just wanted to pass that information to you."

Both, Xavier's and Krithika's parents had taken a backseat, envisioning his wealth being used up by his friends for all the arrangements. It had been clear to Ashok and his brothers that their contribution would be two drops of water in the ocean of their future son-in-law's expenditure. But that hadn't stopped Ashok from offering him help, which Xavier had denied with a curt reply, "My Kanmani is invaluable."
