❝Pioneering the art of constructing love, my Kanmani.❞
Xavier teased her skin, slowly caressing her cheeks and her lips trembled.
❝You don't dare!❞
And he kissed her.

Xavier cleared his throat, commanding Krithika's full attention.
"Last year, there was this angry young woman—one very tiny, almost minuscule, executive of my partner, the great Ms. Satya Devi. That little lady had stormed into my cabin, screaming straight at my face, calling me the 'worst boss'... Can you imagine that?" Xavier made an exaggeratedly serious face.
He could see how hard his lovely fiancée was fighting not to smile. "She wasn't minuscule."
"Well, she looked like a tiny button to me," he retorted. "But her words made me rethink my whole professional life. I mean, academically, I've never been anything but perfect, so it was hard to swallow the idea of being tagged as 'the worst.'" He huffed dramatically. "Huh... I brooded in silence for a few days but, ultimately, gave up trying to figure out what I'd done wrong. So, later, I consulted my best friend—Ms. Satya Devi herself."
"Oh!"
"You won't believe what I found out about myself!" After a theatrical pause, he continued, "Satya told me to be more considerate and maybe, just maybe, a bit cheerful. Apparently, I was an assholic perfectionist—too cold and unnecessarily ruthless. Not exactly her words, because, you know, she's considerate when she's trying to be nice to me."
Krithika smiled slightly. "Did you tell Ma'am about the incident?"
"I'm no fool. Satya is fiercely protective of her team." He tapped the tip of her nose, booping her. "She fought for that button's stupid father."
"You fought with him."
"Oh, did I?" He nodded, pretending to remember. "Ah, yes, I convinced him." Staring into her glittering eyes, he added, "So, the moral of the story is that it's never too late for anything. The day I started being my old self—a joyful and pleasant person—I found my Kanmani."
Patting his cheek, she teased, "You should write stories as a side gig. You'd earn a good sum."
"As the CEO of Xhasis, I consider moonlighting an offense." Leaning in, he whispered, "I've already committed a crime by making out with the button executive. You want the board members to sue me?"
Circling her arms around his shoulders, she cradled the back of his head. "I heard that button executive is your fiancée. Is that true?" she asked, her lips trailing kisses along his jaw.
"For how long are we going to talk about you in this third-person narrative?" His voice dropped to a husky tone.
"Wasn't it you who started it?" she murmured.
He pushed her gently onto the sofa, hovering over her, his eyes locking onto hers. "It was to make you understand that you, my Kanmani, can never be anything but a pure soul. It was to knock some sense into you." He smiled as her lips began to pout seductively. "My stubborn Kanmani needs to learn a few things. I need to teach her how to see clearly."
"My thoughts are very impure and blurry right now, my love," she said, her fingers grazing her lips exactly the way he'd shown her three days ago. "What lesson do you want to teach your Kanmani now?"
"Well, I can start with a chapter on how to untie your towel for me." With that, his lips met hers in a passionate kiss—perhaps the first point in his lesson on teaching her how to kiss passionately.
