Farhan smacked his lips

Farhan smacked his lips. "So, here's the thing, Saranya. My man—Mr. Xavier Lucifer Joseph, standing right here—loves your daughter like a crazy Salim, and your daughter is no less than Anarkali." He turned to wink at Krithika, but his expression faltered into a pout when he saw her still sobbing in Xavier's arms. "No, not just about her beauty, but her equally maddening love for Xav."

Saranya couldn't believe the audacity of this stranger. She kept shooting daggers at him with her glare.

"You, darling mommy, can glare as many burning arrows at me as you like, but the truth is, they are truly in love, and neither you nor your husband... or anyone, for that matter, can stop them from being together." He sarcastically clicked his tongue, noticing Saranya's balled fists.

Karthik snapped. "Don't you know how to talk to people respectfully?"

Amusement played across Farhan's face. "Shut up, kid."

Farhan had a knack for casually showcasing his ruthless nature to anyone, compelling numerous individuals—of all ages and genders, particularly older and influential men—to submit. Karthik was simply insignificant compared to them. Raising his hand, Farhan motioned with a forefinger for Karthik to lower his accusing eyes. "Didn't your mother teach you any manners? Don't fucking interrupt when elders are talking." He raised his inky left brow, and the poor guy immediately obliged, bowing his head.

Strolling closer, Farhan began. "Saranya darling, there's an interesting proverb in Urdu—Jab miyan biwi raazi toh kya karega qazi. I won't go into the literal translation, but the crux is this: if two souls are in love, they don't need anyone's permission to be together. No mortal could dare to separate them."

Towering over her and Karthik with his six-foot-two-inch height, he chuckled. "Your daughter and my man have already applied for a court marriage. They'll be married by next month's end." He grabbed Karthik's forearm and pried him away from his mother. "Lord, I won't bite you or your mommy! Stand away!"

Turning back to Saranya, he continued, "Ah, where were we... Haan, court marriage. But the problem is, your daughter loves you and cares about you. She wanted to talk to you, to let you know she's happy with my man." Sighing deeply, he added, "So here we are. Xavier would've talked to you nicely if you hadn't triggered him by hitting his darling." Grimacing, he ran a hand through his dark, wavy shoulder-length hair. "Eh... Yeah, he gets very possessive about the people he cares for. I've had a bad experience myself."

Saranya stood her ground, refusing to be intimidated.

Standing to her side, he pointed a hand at Xavier. "He's a good man—perhaps one of the best I've met in my life. Believe me, I've been around many men—too fucking powerful—to know what they're capable of." He drawled dangerously, fully aware Karthik was probably shitting his pants.
