Krithika coyly smiled and tried to pull her left hand out of Xavier's light grip

Krithika coyly smiled and tried to pull her left hand out of Xavier's light grip. He held her firm, his left hand tracing the ring on her finger, his thumb lovingly caressing the stunning piece of jewelry he'd slipped on her finger last night when she claimed him as hers.

He had finally proposed to her in his poetic, pioneering way, and she'd screamed 'yes' several times in the heat of their bliss. She'd never in her life imagined that a proposal could be so passionately intimate, that she could feel euphoric just for being in love.

Yes, it wasn't just sex. Xavier had poured his heart out to her.

His eyes had been the perfect mirror to his soul as he'd whispered, "What should I offer you? The moon and stars, the entire universe? But they already live in the depths of your beautiful eyes. How can I promise you lies when my love should be as pure as yours?"

"Yes..." she'd whispered, her heart racing.

"Should I offer you all the wealth in the world? But you find it worthless, saying you want to earn everything with your own hard work. So, what do I do with that stubborn heart of yours, other than admire it every single day?" he had chuckled. "Wouldn't it be a lie if I said I don't marvel at how much 'Raangi' you are?"

She had softly slapped him for being called arrogant but had agreed to him. "Yes..."

"Should I offer you my lust, my trust, my love, and my life? But your tiny hands have already captured them long ago, haven't they, my Kanmani?"

"Yes..."

"Should I promise you a lifetime of happiness? But aren't you the one who is my happiness? Wouldn't it just be me humbly grateful for your presence in my life?"

"Yes..."

"Kanmani, the poet in me could only survive for you—will you be his inspiration for life?"

"Yes..."

"The pioneer in me now wants to ask you something." After kissing her, he'd asked, "I won't be able to promise you anything, because I am nothing without you. So, please marry me and make me yours. Would you be so philanthropic, Krithika?"

She'd sobbed, tears of happiness streaming down her face as she nodded, accepting his proposal, "Yes, Xavier, a thousand times yes."

And he'd put a ring on it, binding her vena amoris to his heart.

In one swift motion, he'd entered her slick channel, a guttural groan escaping from his sweet mouth, "I'm the luckiest man in this universe, Krithika, so fucking lucky." He'd closed his eyes and buried his head in her chest, his body trembling with satisfaction as he had felt every inch of him clenched by her.
