As the night went on, Tommy grew quiet, a change from his usual bubbly self. Eleanora initially thought he was just tired, but as dinner went on, his uneasiness became more apparent, leaving her increasingly worried.

Taking him gently by the hand, Eleanora guided Tommy to the couch, sensing something amiss.

Seated beside him, she looked into his eyes, waiting for him to open up. For a moment, the air hung heavy with unspoken words, and then, as if breaking a dam, Tommy's lips quivered, and he burst into tears.

Panicking, Eleanora pulled him into a comforting embrace, reassuring him that whatever it was, they would face it together. Through choked sobs, Tommy finally found the words.

Eleanora spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper as she reached out to Tommy. "What happened, Tommy? You can tell me. I'm here for you."

Tommy's sobs filled the room as he struggled to speak. "Can I call you Mommy?"

Eleanora's heart ached at the vulnerability in his voice. She nodded gently, encouraging him to open up.

"Of course, you can, sweetheart," she said, her tone gentle and reassuring. "You can call me whatever feels right for you. But why does that upset you?"

Tears streamed down Tommy's cheeks as he sniffled. " 'Cause... 'cause my other mommy... she died. I called her mommy, and then she died."

Eleanora's own eyes welled up with tears as she realized the depth of Tommy's pain and fear. She pulled him close, wrapping him in a tight embrace and soothing him with gentle strokes.

"Tommy, sweetheart," she whispered softly, "you can call me Mommy. I'm here for you, and I won't ever leave you. Your mommy may not be here physically, but she's always with you, looking after you. We're a family now, and families stick together. I love you, Tommy."

In that tender moment, Eleanora vowed to create a haven of love and security for Tommy, dispelling the shadows of his past fears.

As they sat together on the couch, Eleanora felt the need to infuse a bit of lightness into the moment.

Eleanora's voice was soft as she spoke to Tommy, "You know, Tommy, calling me Mommy is like having a super special nickname, just for us."

Tommy's tear-streaked face brightened with curiosity, the sadness replaced by a spark of interest. "Really? A special nickname just for us?"

Eleanora nodded, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "Absolutely. It's like our secret code. When you call me Mommy, it's like a little magic spell that makes everything better."

A giggle escaped Tommy, his eyes lighting up with delight. "Magic spell? Like in my favorite fairy tales?"

Eleanora grinned, nodding in agreement. "Exactly! So, whenever you feel scared or sad, just say, 'Mommy,' and our magic spell will chase away all the bad feelings."

Tommy's face radiated with newfound comfort, the weight of his fears lifting. "Mommy! I like our magic spell. It's the best."

Eleanora hugged him a little tighter, reveling in the simplicity of their heartwarming exchange.

In that moment, their laughter and cuddles stitched together a special story-a tale of healing, love, and the wonderful journey of their new family.
