When Chai Son woke up he found Kallan hugging him, his arms and legs enveloping him tightly like a clingy little monkey. As pleasant as his warmth felt in the cool mountain air, Chai Son was desperate to use the bathroom so he gently pried Kallan's limbs off of him until he could crawl out of bed.
After using the bathroom and washing he walked back through to his bedroom and Kallan was still fast asleep, he didn't know everything that he had been through yesterday but he must be exhausted.
Chai Son dressed quickly in clean jeans, black tee shirt and a white over shirt then he padded through to his kitchen to make some food. He decided on rice and egg roll and he would make a pot of coffee but maybe Kallan preferred tea?
He remembered that there might be a box of green tea at the back of the cupboard if it wasn't out of date yet? Putting rice in the rice cooker he set it going before making the coffee then he set to work whisking eggs to make the egg roll.
It was while he was cooking the egg that Kallan walked into the room yawning and looking confused.
"good morning cutie" Chai Son said smiling.
"good morning er ..."
"you can call me Chai Son ... or husband works just as well" he laughed and Kallan went bright red.
"I don't really know what to do today until we know what's wrong with my car?" Kallan said.
"I told you last night, don't worry, come and eat and I'll take a look at it while you relax" Chai Son said.
"can I do anything to help?" Kallan asked.
"nope, just take a seat, it's almost ready, oh by the way, do you drink coffee?"
"I do yes" Kallan confirmed.
"great, here, drink this while it's hot" Chai Son said pushing a mug of steaming coffee over to him.
"I'm thinking your more like the wife than the husband" Kallan said before realising he had spoken out loud and blushing again.
"it's ok for a husband to take care of his wife when they've had a bad day or yesterday in your case?" Chai Son said as he smiled.
Kallan didn't reply, he just sipped on his coffee and watched Chai Son finish cooking breakfast and in the cold light of day he managed to get a proper look at his saviour, the guy was quite tall and very handsome.
"how do you know so much about luxury cars?" Kallan asked without thinking.
"it's my job" Chai Son smiled.
"but surely you don't get very many in these parts?"
"no we don't but I saw a picture of one once in a magazine and I'm always ready to try new things and it makes a change from sittin' on ma' porch and chewin' tobaccy" Chai son said dead pan.
Kallan was staring at him as if he had three heads until Chai Son suddenly burst out laughing.
"ok I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound patronising" Kallan said blushing again.
"I know, I'm just pulling your leg Kallan, I went to university and lived in the city for several years" Chai Son said.
"I'm sorry Chai Son, really I am"
"don't worry about it cutie, living in the countryside I get the best of both worlds, I count myself very lucky, what about you?" Chai Son asked as he was plating up the food.
"what about me?" Kallan asked.
"well you look like a teenager, what is a young guy like you doing alone and driving around in such a valuable car?" he asked again.
