Chai Son had decided to stay in the city for a few more days but he knew he would have to go back home by the weekend because he had a few jobs booked in for next week, it's not that he was solely dependent on his income due to his trust fund but luckily he hadn't had to touch any of that money since leaving home.
He lived modestly and the apartment and car that he used when he was in the city had been graduation gifts from his parents. The security were at his fathers insistence so he couldn't deny they had been good to him even after he had confessed to liking men.
It was just the fact that his father would never accept that he didn't want to follow his dream, if he had then maybe he wouldn't have felt the need to leave home but he liked to think that even though his father often made disparaging remarks about his chosen career, deep down he was proud of him.
He'd never been a troublesome child or rebellious teenager and his father must know that he rarely touched the trust fund money so he liked to think that his dad also knew he was responsible.
He and Kallan were dining out this evening at his parents country club where his parents and Kallan's mother and sister were meeting for the first time and even though Chai Son's father was on medication, his mother assured him that he would be ok for a couple of hours, in fact the change of scenery might do him good.
When he and Kallan arrived at the club they were escorted to their table to find the parents already there. Chai Son had met Kallan's mother and sister a few days earlier and they had hit it off really well.
Kallan's mother hadn't been too surprised to discover that her son was dating a man, she knew that his past relationships didn't seem to last very long and she was aware of how his ex girlfriend had insulted and demeaned him because Kallan had confided in his sister who had told her later.
She just wanted her boy to be happy and she felt that Chai Son was the person to make that happen.
Considering how Chai Son felt about his parents, the dinner was actually very pleasant and there was much chatting and laughter.
Chai Son was surprised to see his father and Kallan getting along like a house on fire, they both had their heads together talking about business and he hadn't seen his father so animated for a long time.
"so when will you get married brother?" Kallan's sister asked Chai Son.
"we haven't decided yet, we just want to enjoy being engaged and getting to know each other a lot more" Chai Son said.
"well I hope it's soon boy, I would like to see you both married before I croak"
"dad, don't say things like that, you have plenty of years ahead of you" Chai Son said.
"well, I'm just putting it out there" Chai Son's father added.
"ok, message received and underst ..."
"Chai Son ..." a voice spoke from few feet away.
Everyone looked around to see a stunningly handsome young man dressed in a classy midnight blue suit and when Kallan saw the man his mouth fell open in awe of how gorgeous the guy was, his looks, the way he carried himself, he looked like a super model.
"Kao?" Chai Son replied looking at the man who had come closer to their table, his eyes sparkled as he looked at everyone at the table and smiled at them all making Kallan's sister swoon.
Chai Son's parents looked at the man and then at their son but didn't say anything.
"I hope I'm not intruding but I couldn't help overhearing, I understand congratulations are in order?" the man said.
