Chapter 12 ~ don't mind me ~

The following day, Kallan was sitting in his office knowing he couldn't put it off any longer so picking up his office telephone he keyed in the number,

"Mr Ransini?" Kallan asked when the call connected

"speaking" the voice replied.

"good morning, it's Kallan Japithawit here, I'm back in the city now and I was wondering if we could reschedule my visit so when would it be convenient to drive up and take a look at your factory?"

"Kallan, it's good to hear from you again, come whenever you like but I have to tell you, there has been a lot of interest"

"then ... my diary is clear for tomorrow morning, I can maybe make it up there for about 11am now that I know my way" Kallan replied while doodling on his memo pad.

"that would be great then I'll take you to lunch afterwards" Ransini said.

"thank you but unfortunately I have a meeting in the afternoon that can't be put off so I'll have to head straight back" Kallan lied.

"why do I get the feeling that you're avoiding being alone with me?" Ransini said.

"oh, it's not that, I really do have a meeting" Kallan lied again.

"then why not come after the meeting and I'll take you to dinner instead?"

"I don't want to be driving at night, that's what got me into all that trouble the last time" Kallan replied.

"then sleep over" Ransini said.

"I really can't Mr Ransini, I have appointments the morning after too" the guy was a pest!

"well I guess if you can't, you can't, but wait ... I have an even better idea, if I can bum a ride I'll go back to the city with you afterwards, I have business of my own to attend to so we can still go to dinner"

shiyaa, he had planned to go and see Chai Son afterwards, this asshole was the most manipulative son of a bitch, he just would not take no for an answer, taking a deep breath Kallan replied,

"then how will you get home afterwards?"

"I'll stay at my condo in the city, I have another car there" Ransini said.

Kallan could almost see him gloating,

"very well, then I'll see you in the morning at 11am"

"I'll look forward to it Kallan" Ransini said before ending the call.

Kallan stared at the phone wondering what to do, he had been looking forward to surprising Chai Son by turning up at his house in time for lunch and now that asshole Ransini had ruined his plans.

The rest of his day was spent catching up with more work that he had missed while his car was out of action then he rushed home to shower and change before having dinner then he curled up in his bed and worked on his laptop while he waited for Chai Son to call.

At exactly 10pm on the dot his cell phone rang and he almost fell off his bed in his haste to answer it.

"hey cutie" Chai Son said when he picked up the call.

"Chai Son, did you have a good day?" Kallan enquired.

"the usual, got up, ate breakfast, waited for the customer to come with his pick up, did you?" Chai Son asked him.

"yes and no" Kallan replied.

"why baby, anything I can help you with?"

Kallan didn't want to tell him about Ransini but he knew that if Chai Son found out about his plans afterwards, he would be pissed.
