I decided to clean out my room as a distraction. Cleaning was a good distraction.

I found something in my room. The small black box with the Tiffany engagement ring. I had planned to propose to you that summer. I know we were only young, but we'd known each other a very long time. I wanted to spend every single living moment with you. But I can't now...
I never threw it away or sold it. Even though you didn't know about the ring and never wore the ring, it was the reason why I bought that exact ring. We were in New York and at Tiffany's. It was the first thing that caught your eye. That's when the thought of marrying you occurred to me. It's strange, you'd thing I would've thought about it sooner, but that day in New York was when I thought about it seriously. When you saw that ring, your beautiful green eyes lit up. I miss those stunning eyes.
I took extra shifts at work and saved up for a year to get you that ring, because darling, you deserved it.
