Today Ashton and I left to go to his beach house a couple of hours away from where we live in Sydney.

It was late at night and dark when we arrived. The house was cute. It was small and right next to the beach.
It had two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small kitchen/living room area. There was a small porch with two chairs and a table.
The view of the sea was beautiful. It was away from the main beach, it was a sort of private beach.

I unpacked my clothes and went into the kitchen to see Ashton making two cups of chamomile tea.

"Here," he smiled, handing me the cup.

We sat outside and watched the stars.

"Thank you Ashton," I said.

He looked over to me and raised an eyebrow, " for what?"

"For everything," I whispered.

"It's okay Alice... I love you," he said.

I didn't know if I should say it back. Did I love Ashton? Of course I do, but do I love him like I loved Calum? Why am I even comparing him to Calum? Calum's gone.

"I love you too Ashton," I replied, a little bit hesitant. He didn't notice I was apprehensive.

He smiled, dimples prominent.

I took my sleeping pills and got ready to try and sleep. Ashton looked sad. He hated seeing me have these problems. He didn't think it was fair. He'd stay awake with me until I could fall asleep. I told him that he didn't have to stay awake, but he insisted.
I got into bed first before Ashton turned off the lamp. He lay next to me and wrapped an arm around me. He laid his head on mine.
The last thing I remember him saying was he loved me before I fell into a deep sleep.
