Chapter 13: A Sinister Encounter

Tom returned to his room, finding Odette peacefully asleep. He watched her for a moment, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. He then quietly slipped out of the room, his mind set on a small task. He wanted to surprise Odette with a bouquet of roses from the garden, her favorite.

As he made his way to the garden, the cool evening air brushing against his skin, he noticed a figure standing by the garden door. As he approached, the figure turned to face him, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Tom," the man greeted, his voice smooth. "What a pleasant surprise."

Tom's gaze hardened, his fists clenching at his sides. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice icy.

The man's smirk widened, his gaze gleaming with a sinister light. "I'm here for Odette," he said, his voice filled with confidence. "I want her blood, her life. She's not an ordinary woman, Tom. Her blood is powerful, and her spirit... it's unlike anything I've ever seen."

Tom's heart pounded in his chest, his anger flaring up. "You won't lay a finger on her," he growled, his voice filled with fury. "I won't let you."

The man laughed, his gaze filled with amusement. "We'll see about that, Tom," he said, his voice filled with arrogance. "We'll see."

And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving Tom standing in the garden, his mind filled with worry. He knew he had to protect Odette, had to keep her safe. He wouldn't let this man, or anyone else, harm her. Not while he was still breathing.

With the sinister encounter still fresh in his mind, Tom made his way back to the mansion. His heart was heavy with worry, but he pushed those feelings aside. He had a task at hand.

In the garden, he picked the most vibrant roses, their petals soft and fragrant. Holding onto the bouquet, he returned to the mansion and quietly entered his room. Odette was still asleep, her features soft and peaceful in the dim light.

Tom gently placed the bouquet on the bedside table, careful not to wake her. He watched her for a moment, his heart filled with a mix of love and worry. "Odette," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I'll protect you. I promise."

With that, he quietly exited the room, leaving Odette to her peaceful slumber. The bouquet of roses was a small gesture, a symbol of his love and his promise to protect her. As he closed the door behind him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. He would do whatever it took to keep Odette safe

As the morning light filtered through the curtains, Odette slowly stirred from her sleep. Her eyes fluttered open, her gaze landing on the bouquet of roses beside her bed. A smile spread across her face as she reached out to touch the soft petals, her fingers tracing their delicate edges.

"Tom," she whispered, her voice filled with warmth. She knew the roses were from him. He knew how much she loved them, knew how much they meant to her.

She sat up, cradling the bouquet in her hands. The roses were beautiful, their vibrant colors a stark contrast against the soft morning light. She brought the bouquet closer, inhaling the sweet fragrance. It was a comforting scent, one that brought a sense of peace to her heart.

As she sat there, holding the roses, she couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude. Despite everything that was happening, despite the dangers they were facing, Tom still found the time to do this for her. It was a small gesture, but it meant the world to her.

"Thank you, Tom," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion. She set the bouquet back on the bedside table, her gaze lingering on the beautiful roses. They were a reminder of Tom's love, a reminder of his promise to protect her. And she knew, without a doubt, that he would keep that promise

As Odette sat on the bed, admiring the roses, a sudden shadow fell across the room. She turned towards the window, her heart pounding in her chest. There, standing outside the window, was a tall man with a smirk on his face.

A gasp escaped her lips as she recognized the man. He had been searching for her for years, wanting to take her blood, her spirit, her soul. He knew how powerful and unique she was, and he wanted that power for himself.

Fear gripped her heart as she stared at the man, his smirk widening as he saw the fear in her eyes. "Odette," he called out, his voice smooth. "I've finally found you."

Odette quickly stood up, her gaze never leaving the man. "You won't get what you want," she said, her voice shaky but determined. "I won't let you."

The man laughed, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "We'll see about that, Odette," he said, his voice filled with confidence. "We'll see."

And with that, he disappeared from the window, leaving Odette alone in the room. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her mind filled with fear. But she knew she had to be strong, had to be brave. She wouldn't let this man take her power, wouldn't let him take her soul. She had to fight, had to protect herself. And with Tom by her side, she knew she could
