Chapter 14: A Frightening Revelation
The man's sinister laughter echoed in Odette's ears long after he had disappeared. Her legs gave out from under her, and she collapsed onto the floor, her heart pounding in her chest. She was terrified, her mind filled with images of what the man could do to her.
Just as she was trying to gather her thoughts, the door to the room opened. Tom walked in, his eyes widening as he saw Odette on the floor. "Odette!" he exclaimed, rushing to her side. "What happened?"
Odette looked up at him, her eyes filled with fear. "He... he found me, Tom," she stammered, her voice shaky. "He knows where I am."
Tom's face paled, his heart pounding in his chest. "Who, Odette?" he asked, his voice filled with worry. "Who found you?"
"The man," Odette replied, her voice barely a whisper. "The one who's been looking for me. He... he wants my blood, my spirit, my soul. He knows how powerful I am, and he wants that power for himself."
Tom's gaze hardened, his fists clenching at his sides. "I won't let him hurt you, Odette," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I promise you, I won't let him take you away from me."==================
As Tom's words echoed in the room, Odette felt a wave of fear wash over her. Her hands started shaking, the terror she felt manifesting physically. She tried to steady her trembling hands, but the fear was too overwhelming, too paralyzing.
Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision. She blinked, the tears rolling down her cheeks. She was scared, more scared than she had ever been in her life. The man who had been hunting her for years had finally found her, and she didn't know what to do.
Tom reached out, gently taking her trembling hands in his. "Odette," he said, his voice soft. "I won't let him hurt you. I promise."
His words were a small comfort, a beacon of hope in the darkness. But the fear was still there, still gripping her heart. She looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm scared, Tom," she whispered, her voice shaky. "I'm so scared."
Tom squeezed her hands, his gaze filled with determination. "I know, Odette," he said, his voice filled with empathy. "But you're not alone. I'm here with you, and I'll protect you. We'll face this together, I promise.~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
