LILITH AND TERRY made their way inside the great hall next morning. The four tables were filled with mountains of toasts, eggs, bacon and sausages. The two sat down and loaded their plates. Terry propped up his copy of Voyages with Vampires and Lilith was half asleep.

"Why do they have to keep school this early?" Lilith complained.

"Lilith. It's almost 9." Terry fixed his reading glasses.

"Your point?" Lilith gave him a blank stare.

Terry rolled his eyes at the girl made her a cup of strong coffee. Lilith grinned and drank it.

"Thank you, kind sir." Lilith said and Terry chuckled.

Just in few minutes, Lilith gained her energy and helped Terry take notes.

"Here you go, Miss. Nightangel, Mr. Boot." Professor Flitwick beamed at them, giving them their schedules.

"Thank you, Professor." Both chorused.

Just as they were about to make their way outside of the hall, Harry and Ron came in.

"Let's go annoy them." Lilith dragged Terry with her.

Lilith sat beside Harry and Terry sat on her left.

"Hiya, Glasses!" Lilith said.

"Hii, Lils." Harry smiled at her.

"Morning, Mione. Morning, Ron."

"Morning Lils." They said together.

"Mail is due any second." Neville joined them; taking a seat beside Ron. "Gran's sending me some things I forgot."

As he predicted, hundreds of owls flew overhead second later, dropping parcels, newspapers and letters. Hermione jumped when a grey lump landed in her jug, spraying her with milk and feathers.

"Errol." Ron groaned, pulling the owl from the jug. He stood on the table for less than a second before slumping in front of Ron's plate. Ron suddenly paled.

"Oh, no-"

"It's alright, he's still alive." Lilith said, prodding the limp owl with her finger but the owl didn't reacted. "Or maybe not."

Suddenly, Terry winced. Lilith followed his gaze and saw a damp, red envelope clasped in owl's beak.

"Ron, you should open it." Terry said timidly.

"What's that?" Lilith asked just as Harry said, "What's the matter?"

"Open it, Ron." Neville murmured. The three of them hadn't moved their eyes from the envelope. "It's worse if you ignore it- I ignored one from my Gran once...it was horrible."

Ron was visibly shaking.

"What the hell is it?" Lilith asked again.

"She's sent me a Howler."

Harry looked at his petrified face, "What's a Howler?"

"Umm.. Ron." Lilith started, "Is it suppose to do that?"

The envelope was begun to smoke at the ends.

"Ron, Open it." Terry said gently.

Ron, fingers trembling, reached forward and extracted the letter from Errol's beak. He pulled it open, Terry and Neville stuck their fingers in their ears-
