XVI || "Correction, I am insane."

It was almost  9 in the morning when they took a break. Albert was very tired with the shadow travel so they made a spot.

After sometimes, they decided, they better eat something.

Lilith's bag of cash was at the camp so Drew charmspeak a nearby man into giving her some money as Ethan pickpocketed some.

Aurora was shocked with Drew's abilities.

The four demigods found themselves a seat in a black cushioned booth near a window from where they could see Albert resting.

They ordered some fries and a cheeseburger for Lilith, they made themself comfortable.

"I think we should stay here for the day, we already covered half of the distance" Lilith stated through a yawn. "We should reach LA by next morning."

"We should crash somewhere for the day." Ethan muttered as he yawned along with Lilith.

"We can not stay in one place for too long" Drew speak in a hushed voice. "The police is still behind us, and our scent might attract monsters."

Aurora nodded, "Drew is right. what's scent?"

"Smell. We demigods smell and monster sniff it and find where we are." Lilith explained as she looked around the cafe.

"Should we take a car for a while?" Aurora asked them as she looked at Albert.

"Yeah we can, but Ethan should not drive when he is half asleep" Drew said.

Lilith and Ethan snorted as they muttered together,

"He is a thirteen year old, he should not even drive." "I am a thirteen year old, I should not even drive."

The waiter brought their food to the table as he looked suspiciously at them.

Drew gave him a charming smile and he looked like he had forgotten everything.

They didn't realised how hungry they were till they started eating. They ate so fast that they didn't even stopped to breathe.

"You don't have to answer if you don't want to Drew," Aurora started carefully, trying not to open any wound. "Why don't you stay with your father, I mean you told me you are an year-rounder so..?"

The air suddenly felt heavy and Aurora looked guilty for asking as she looked at Lilith nervously, but Drew put her fries back on the table as she pushed her hairs back.

"My dad... He was great but our thoughts never matched..."

She looked outside at Albert as she spoke again,

"four years ago on today, my father and I came from a walk when we encountered a monster. Dad had a weapon that mother gave him for my protection but at that day the weapon was at home." Drew's eyes had some tears as she continued,

"We were shaking when I shouted to the Monster, 'die' and the mosnter brusted into dust. My father was concerned for my safety, he told me that we could move far away from home, I don't have to fight. But I told him I want to fight. We had an argument and the next morning I ran away. Aphrodite guided me to the camp. He didn't wanted for me to fight, he was always scared that i'll hurt myself. Maybe he loved me too much which I didn't realised."
