When I woke up, I attempted to move, but a strong impediment prevented me from doing so. I looked around briefly before I began to recall yesterday's event. Spence rested behind me, with both of his arms tightly wrapped around me.
Sigh.
I won't dwell too much on what I allowed to happen last night. The fact that we had sex doesn't change my feelings towards him or the terrible way he will treat me.
I grabbed his arm and removed it from my waist to sit up, but it only woke him, caused him to glance up at me with confused and tired eyes. He has to wake up anyway. His work starts at 8 PM, and I want to be out of here by 10-11 AM, sharp.
"You get up fah?" He grabbed me by the arm and tried to make me lay on his chest, but I refused and sat up at the edge of the bed, gazing over at him. His appearance was somewhat confused or annoyed as he lay there.
"Stay deh look pon me like yuh nuh have work fi guh." I said. He hissed his teeth, when the realization of what I just said settles in.
"Jah know. Me wonder if me coulda call in and tell them me still no feel good." He said this, making my eyes widen, hoping he was just kidding. All my plans for today would be ruined if he did that. I made sure to ask Sylvie for an early scheduled day off today, in order to move in my last boxes and finally settle in my new home.
"Get up and come go the people them work." I say. No way in hell am I gonna sit and allow him to make that call.
"Come we shower together fi go work."
"I don't have work today, besides me no ready fi shower yet." I am sufficiently disgusted with myself for what I did last night. He will never come across me naked again.
"But it's a Saturday. Nuh normally wednesday and sunday a your day off?" Although I was taken aback by his memory of this, I was still able to lie to him with ease.
"A coworker asked for my Sunday day off, so I swapped days with her, which is today." He nodded and I was satisfied he believes.
"So what you a plan fi do fi the day?"
Lef you and yuh place once and for all!
"Um, nothing I guess." I try to hold back a grin that wanted to so desperately make its way onto my face.
