"And yuh expect me fi believe that? Something afi duh yuh then." He chuckled and I almost rolled my eyes.
"So wah, me afi have man?"
"No, but it look like me afi go change that." I shift my gaze away from him and start playing with the bottle in front of me. "Or yuh ina yuh 'menuh want nuh man' phase?" I couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
"But why you call it a phase tho? Some women generally are sick of men." I defend.
"Yeah, but for the majority of uno is a phase. Which uno entitled to, nothing nuh wrong wid a lil break after waste break uno heart." He stated, and I'm uncertain if I'm just sensitive, but it felt as if he was addressing me.
"How long ago was it?" He asked and I stand corrected.
"How long ago was what?" I portrayed myself as clueless when I turned to face him, but he just stared back at me with knowing eyes, indicating that I was aware of his meaning.
"Very recently."
"Jah know." He sound annoyed. "How yuh recovery a gwan?"
"So far so good." I smile. "Just a work pon forgetting that part of me life all together." I say reminiscing a bit, causing me to feel a pang in my chest.
"So yuh nuh wah lil help, me woulda surely help yuh forget." He smirk, his eyes held something sinister.
"Next man I allow to enter my life, me a plan fi choose him wisely." He smiles nodding his head in acceptance, then took a sip of his magnum.
"Talia." A voice calls me and I turn to see Shericka. She looked a bit astonished as her eyes flickered between Nico and me. "Nuh want back yuh bag." She hands it to me and I thanked her and retrieve it before she walks away.
"Me forget me did even lef it wid her." I reached inside to take out my phone to check the time. It surprised me to realize that hours have gone by since I've been here with him, but it felt like only a few minutes.
"Rass."
"Yuh good?" He asked.
"Me really need fi leave now." I say glancing around to see if I could spot Shan at the location I last saw her but she wasn't there.
