Amala couldn't shake off the lingering thoughts from her conversation with Hoseok. Still seated on his lap, she absentmindedly played with a bear canine necklace he wore, resting her head on his shoulder. His comforting caresses traversed her back and sides, occasionally nuzzling into the crook of her neck to inhale her scent. Amidst these intimate moments, her mind wrestled with the question of her emotions towards them. Having spent a week in their company, only a day as a human, they had cared for her, saved her, and welcomed her into their pack. While she felt a genuine attachment, she also pondered her resilience – she could survive any outcome. Life had taught her to navigate challenges without resistance, adapting to whatever it threw her way.
However, a few minutes into contemplating this line of reasoning, she realized that he had uttered a specific phrase, a nuanced expression that carried profound implications. He had mentioned surviving on an emotional level. This detail marked a pivotal moment for her, signaling a significant shift in her perspective.
She started spiraling, imagining their dead bodies in a pile, eyes white and still, void of any wolf darkness, void of expression, their skin pale and their fingers blue. She imagined herself seeing them like that for the first time, how would she react, would she scream and yell out for help? Would she freeze and wail for their separation after the initial shock has gone? Unconsciously, tears started flowing down her cheeks like a cascade. She lost control of her emotions and panicked when she couldn't grasp the line between imagination and reality and her body seemed to move on its own, her hands held her head, clutched her ears, and hit her face a few times, she was trying to silence her thoughts, to wake her mind from the nightmare she had created. Hoseok didn't understand what happened, he shushed her as best he could, but his comfort only made it worse, how could she survive without this? Without them? They had no right to leave her in this state, not after they gave her a taste of what a life within a pack could be. She had lived without love and care for so long, that she didn't want to imagine her life without it, without them.
Right then, the rest of the pack entered each one of them lifting a prey in their hands. Yoongi immediately dropped it on the floor and approached the pair asking what the problem was. He figured no one knew when all of them shrugged their shoulders with worried expressions on their faces. He sighed and sat down to be on her level. Once she saw him, she started blabbering.
"I don't want any of you to die, I don't think I will be able to survive it, please don't die." She said.
"Hey, baby, no one is dying okay? We are all here and we are all okay." Namjoon said from the back, his deep voice combined with the head alpha's warm and invasive scent calmed her down instantly, and her cries turned to sniffles. "You bonded with all of us, that was quick." He added, she blushed through the tears.
"Does that mean I'm pack now?" she asked innocently
The pack dispersed after that, leaving the head alpha and his right hand to handle the situation. Yoongi sat on a chair facing them and grabbed her legs, putting them on his lap. He wanted her to feel at ease with all of them, he knew how his alphas looked and how the first impression could've gone completely wrong. However, the fact that she bonded with them all was proof that she was more comfortable with them than he had thought. he just hoped the rest of the pack shared her feelings so she wouldn't get hurt by one-sided bonds later on. She still didn't understand a lot of pack dynamics, which was normal, because despite being raised with wolves, she grew up in a peculiar pack that never taught her how to behave within a community, moreover, each pack had their traditions and the white moon pack was one of the oldest pack in the wolf territory, of course, Amala has a lot to learn, but he was there to guide her, as her head alpha.
