A few days after the incident, the Min pack seemed to have decided to move on from their quarrel but not the two main culprits. On one side, there was Hoseok, a stubborn alpha who would rather die than admit he was wrong. On the other side, Amala, a bratty omega and equally stubborn, waiting for him to apologize for taking a stranger's side instead of defending her.
Despite the appearance of calm and peace, an undeniable electric tension lingered in the air between Amala and Hoseok. The two wolves were both holding onto the threads of unspoken apologies. They are stubborn within their interactions and refuse to reconcile. Though neither of them was overtly disrespectful or insulting towards the other, the palpable distance between them did not escape Yoongi's discerning gaze. Amala left as soon as she was done with breakfast to avoid sitting at the same table as the alpha she once admired. The latter stayed as far away from the omega as he physically could. The only contact they had with each other were the brief glares from across the cave and the snarky comments when they were forced to be at closed distances.
The head alpha sensed the unsubtle despise in dynamics, a disconnection that unsettled the harmony of the pack. As the head alpha, he couldn't ignore the unspoken rift between Amala and Hoseok. He knew that their unresolved tension could potentially disrupt the unity they had worked so hard to build.
Consequently, he took it upon himself to sit them down one evening and made them face each other. He forced them to push down the snarls and to make up at once. He sent the rest of the pack away, even Jimin was to accompany Jin to the healer's hut. Amala sat on a chair and Hoseok took the other facing her. Although Yoongi wanted to trust them alone, he trusted that he knew his mates more than anyone and knew they would fight more unless they were supervised.
"Alright, both of you will talk about what's bothering you until it stops bothering you. I don't care if it takes a week." Yoongi started.
Both of them remained silent and the head alpha sighed loudly. He scratched the nape of his neck and rubbed his face in annoyance and commanded them again to start talking.
"Alpha, with all due respect, but the problem won't be solved just because we talk. He doesn't understand me and doesn't make an effort to understand so why would I waste my breath over this?" Amala answered Yoongi quickly under the gaze of a shocked Hoseok.
"This is what I'm talking about. She is disrespectful and thinks so mighty of herself. But maybe, and this is just a suggestion, she should start listening to others as well." Hoseok defended himself.
"I like this, but when I said talk, I didn't mean for you to talk to me. So please direct your words to each other. Hoseok tell her what you think she is doing wrong."
"You keep disrespecting your mates knowing that you are the lowest rank for one and after being punished for this multiple times for another."
"I don't mean to disrespect you, I defend myself. It's not my fault you see that as disrespect. But while we're on the subject, you think that because I'm an omega I owe you blind obedience, but I don't. If I feel disrespected, I will defend myself."
"I don't feel like you owe me respect."
Amala scoffed and interrupted him with a small, "Yes, you do". Yoongi sensed a fight coming. He was right, his presence was necessary.
"Amala, don't interrupt, listen to him and wait for your turn."
They looked at each other for a while. He was clearly expecting something from her but she just lowered her eyes before looking up at Hoseok again, waiting for her turn dutifully.
"Amala, did you understand what I just said?"
She looked up at him, pushing her hair out of her eyes, and put her hand in her hand on the table, feigning boredom.
