"At the dawn of existence, the world we know didn't exist, there were only dark skies for miles and miles, so if you ever think that we live through dark nights during the winter, try imagining no stars or moons to lighten your path, nothing but void and obscurity all around you. This is the story of a being that lives beyond the skies we see, and whom we can't see or hear, nor feel. This being is mighty and can control everything in the whole world, having authority over all creation. He grew weary of the perpetual darkness and sought amusement. Thus, he fashioned small spheres to entertain himself, toys he could toss and roll at his whim.
So he created the sun, the earth, and many more all over the universe. For centuries, he enjoyed his little toys and gave each of them distinct characteristics. But then, he grew lonely and the toys weren't enough anymore. He needed companionship, something he could call a friend, so what did he do? He brought the orbs to life, and started making them fight each other and put on shows for him; obviously, he stopped calling them toys, instead he called them luminaries, in hopes that they would accept to be his friends, he clearly didn't know anything about friendship.
However, and as you know, all creatures have a sense of hierarchy; it's just how we are. And luminaries are no better; eventually there were some who averted dominance more than others, he got delighted when he saw all the drama and vicious fights happening, it was pure entertainment for him and he didn't care about the consequences. His personal favorite, the most vicious and the biggest ball of them all was a rock ball, which was called Selene. Selene was the closest to this being, he enjoyed her gloomy yet strong and comforting presence, she listened to him talk and rant about the others who were, in his opinion, too boring to be deserving of his presence. Selene had the connection and the strength, so all the other luminaries respected her and used her to protect themselves from the wrath of the strong being. But one time, something happened within the skies that we don't necessarily understand. Long story short, there was a falling out between this being and Selene, some say that he fell in love but she turned him down, and others say that she grew too big and wanted to end him and take over the universe, we don't know anything, except that after the very brutal celestial fight, the being destroyed his closest and favorite friend and he banned the rest of the luminaries from the high skies, sending them to lower levels. Not wanting to be alone once again, he created the perfect beings, the angels, he started calling the place he lived in, the heavens, and he created hell. Hell is the lowest level of the skies, and that's where all the bad angels go, the most notorious fallen angel is the devil. An evil creature who wants to destroy the whole world and take over the darkness, he has many subordinates that live with him in hell and who answer to him.
Meanwhile, the banned orbs had their own little plan, in order to stop the fighting for good; they decided that the strongest of them would be their leader and decide what happened to them. The sun was the biggest, and it was made of fire, he didn't need to fight any of them to prove that he was the most deserving; he just burnt whoever dared to approach him a little too much. So it was decided that the sun would be the center of the world, and he came up with an idea, for all the others to circle around him in order to stay warm and have some light on some of their parts. They lived in harmony for centuries, but they kept noticing parts of Selene that were flying around them, falling into them at times and destroying them, so the sun made them protect themselves with layers of thick air that would slow down the Selene parts. But then, some of them had the idea of taking these parts and making them into moons, using them as another means of light when the sun would stop shinning for a while. A little bit of life remained in each moon and they accepted the very enticing deal.
All these planets and the sun and the moons found out that, without that being they lived in peace and happiness. And after centuries of co-existing they decided to create their own creatures, they just needed a place where to put them. Planet Mars volunteered, and they all created the humans and put them there, along with animals and vegetation and water. Then again, humans weren't as peaceful as their creators, they destroyed everything they touched, drove all animals to extinction and dried out plants, eventually they died as well. But the planets didn't give up, only this time, no one volunteered, so the sun decided it was earth that would bear the responsibility. And the luminaries had learnt their lesson, so they started small; Earth was already the earth and water ball –which, by the way, is why our people in the old days say that the best mates would be a couple of water and earth. So, anyways, the only thing left was to put creatures on earth, and this time, they decided that each planet, including the moon, would put its own creature, those who survived, survived and those who didn't, their loss.
