It had been three nights and two days, the cave started to smell of sweat and food waste, the wolves had been nervous and scared, and there was no way the fighting hadn't ended yet. However, and as bad as it sounds, they hoped it didn't, because if the war had ended but there wasn't any howl or horn indicating it, it meant that the white moon pack came to an end, and they were waiting to be discovered.

Amala stopped eating the first morning, she had a bad knot in her stomach, and a lump in her throat. Jimin tried to coax her constantly but she was miserable, her life was pathetic and sad and unlucky. She was bad luck. As soon as she finds something that ignites her days, it gets taken away. She had just found a lovely pack who accepted her and now they were all gone, she was so close to being mated and marked and belonging to a community, but she lost it all.

The mark on Jungwoo's neck didn't help. He had someone to protect him since his youth, to keep him safe from the harsh realities this world had to offer until he felt ready and found other people who were just perfect for him and who accepted him and made him theirs right away, without second thoughts; because he didn't have a heavy past, he wasn't filled with darkness. He was a seventeen-year-old marked honey boy. Amala wanted to cry, but for the first time in her life, there was no more water left. She had dark circles under her eyes, and she was losing all the weight she had gained, her mouth was dry and pierced into an angry sad pout, nothing made her laugh, nothing made her cry, she was just there, feeling numb and waiting for time to pass, no thoughts, no feelings.

There was an omega near her who had cried for three nights straight, she didn't stop for one moment, and the whole loud wailing was starting to bother Amala, she was already annoyed and she could feel herself boiling, ready to scream, she just wanted a moment of peace. She didn't say anything though, she didn't yell, she didn't tell her to shut up like she wanted to, she just stared at her while sitting in her destroyed nest.

Some alphas entered the cave, they were badly injured and just managed to make it to their loved ones, it had been an occurring event, wolves coming to get their families and leaving with them, and sometimes they delivered news about someone they saw on the battlefield. Every time one of them came, there were glimpses of hope around the cave that the war had ended, but all they would tell them, is that they didn't know what happened, rogues seemed to be moving along, every time breaching a part of territory, fighting, killing and then disappearing. One of the alphas that came this time apparently knew the wailing omega; she hugged him tightly and cried more if that was even possible. After what seemed like an eternity to Amala, they left together while he promised her that their whole pack was fine. At last, some quiet.

Jin and Aecha approached the omegas, giving them the available rabbit meat; Amala turned her body the other way, almost throwing up at the sight of food.

"Amala sweetheart, please eat something, you look like a corpse, I don't want alphas to think I starved you when they were gone," Jin begged almost crying with desperation.

Jin just wanted to rest in one of the alphas' arms; he wanted his pack mates to be back, and for him to be comforted that everything was great. But so far, he had been hunting, healing the injured, waiting expectantly for a familiar scent, guarding the cave, and taking care of his omegas. He was tired and desperate, but he still kept a brave face and even made jokes to lighten up the mood in the cave. To no avail, because Amala lost all the light in her eyes, she was dull, with no imagination sparking in her eyes, no funny remarks, no teasing. She lost all joy because she had nothing else to lose. Jimin was crying all the time, silently to not have the attention on him, but it was clear to Jin that he was about to lose his mind, unlike Amala, his eyes seemed to be racing with thoughts and questions, he was constantly checking the entrance, looking around him, listening to news that wasn't news anymore just the same old information. He was tired as well; none of them had good sleep for three days now. They were all in need for all of this to end.
