Sitting in the upscale cocktail lounge with my younger brother Dominic, we decided to get a drink after the shitty day we had. . As we settled onto the seats I said to my brother "Well little brother today was a mess, how about we drown our troubles in a good drink?"

Dominic responded, "Sounds like a plan, I could use a break from all this chaos." The waiter then came up to us asking for our orders.

"Two of your finest bourbons, please." Dominic added "Make it strong."

Upon receiving our drinks, clinking our glasses together about to lift my glass to take a sip. My attention was caught by the loud laughter and vibrant energy of a group of girls. As my eyes shifted toward their group, something stirred within me, a magnetic pull that drew me to this one girl, an irresistible pull i couldn't ignore.

She possessed a warm brown complexion that spoke of sun-kissed richness, accompanied by long, dark brown curly hair flowing gracefully. Her expressive brown eyes held a depth that hinted at both mystery and allure. With a figure that gracefully embraced curves as she embodied a captivating blend of elegance.

Not realizing I was staring my brother getting my attention. "I see you've found some interesting scenery over there" he said with a smile.

My gaze shifts back to my brother, "I guess so, there's something about her. Can't quite shake the feeling."

Dominic answered"Well, if she's got your attention, she must be something special."

I signal the waiter to come over, "I want you to send another round of drinks to that table over there, put it on my tab."

"Playing the mysterious benefactor tonight?" Dominic said with a chuckle.

"Just a subtle way to get noticed. A little intrigue can go a long way."

He responded,"Well if doesn't work, at least you'll have drink to drown your sorrows."

I responded, "Always the optimist, aren't you?"

As the waiter acknowledged the request and heads towards the table, my eyes remain on the girl curiously.

As they all turned their heads to my table, I maintained my stare on the girl with a mix of intrigue and confidence.

Me and my brother continued with our drinks and engaged in a conversation. As we continued our discussion my attention was suddenly drawn to a delightful interruption.

"Hi" she said with a smile. "I just came over to say thanks for the drinks"

I responded"Your welcome." The words carried a subtle acknowledgement of our interaction while maintaining an unwavering gaze, I continued to observe her with a subtle intensity.

I added"Seeing this breathtaking, stunning and gorgeous woman  sitting over there, I was like God Damn, there must be some way I could get her attention and indeed I did"

She chuckled at my response,"Well, here I am" she said. "I'm gonna go now, thanks again"

I responded quickly, "Not so fast. Can I at least know your name."

She said, "Alessandra"

"Wow, even her name is breathtaking"

She smiled, "Thank you, I'm gonna go now. Bye"

As she gracefully walked away the air held a lingering sense of intrigue leaving me with a memory of her name as captivating as her.

My brother cleared his throat, making me come back to reality, "Well, well. Looks like someone made an impression."

I smirked, "Maybe a little. Alessandra, though. What a name."

My brother asked, "Smooth talker tonight, so what's the plan now?"

I raise an eyebrow, "None of your business. Just enjoy the night and stay out of it."

As the night wore on, still seated in the lounge I couldn't help but help myself notice the absence of Alessandra and her friends. A subtle pang if regret crept in, the realization setting that the intriguing encounter we had, for the moment slipped away. The air carried a tinge id missed opportunity, leaving me with a lingering sense of what might have been, but I know I will see her again no matter what circumstances it takes.
