Trigger Warning

Alessandra

I was arranging a new display of summer dresses, when I felt a sudden sharp pain in my abdomen. I winced, pausing for a moment, but then brushed it off, thinking it was just a normal pregnancy ache. I continued with my work, but the pain came again, more intense this time.

"Are you okay, Alessandra?" My coworker Mia, asking, noticing the strain on my face.

"I'm fine, just a little discomfort," I replied forcing a smile.

Mia frowned, watching me closely. "You sure? You don't look too good."

I nodded, trying to continue my tasks, but the pain struck again, making me gasp and clutch my abdomen.

"Alessandra!" Mia exclaimed, rushing over to me. "You don't look fine at all. Sit down."

"I.... I think I need to sit," I admitted, my voice shaky. Mia guided me to a chair.

"Do you need to go the hospital?" Mia asked, kneeling beside me. "This doesn't look like just normal pregnancy pain."

I nodded. "I think you're right. Can you get my phone and call Valentino. Tell him what's happening?"

Mia nodded and handed me my phone to unlock it. "Hi Valentino, it's Mia, Alessandra's coworker. Alessandra's not feeling well. She's feeling pain. I think we need to take her to the hospital."

I could hear the worry in Valentino's voice through the phone, even though I couldn't make out his exact words.

"Yes, I'll take her there now," Mia assured him, hanging up. She turned back to me. "Let's get you to the hospital. Valentino will meet us there."

I nodded, trying to stay calm. As I stood up, I felt a sudden rush of warmth between my legs. Looking down I saw blood. My heart dropped.

"Mia, I'm bleeding," I whispered, my voice trembling.

Mia's eyes widened in alarm. "We need to go, now." She helped me into the car and quickly drove to the hospital.

"You're going to be okay," Mia kept saying trying to reassure me. "Valentino will get there soon."

When we finally arrived at the hospital, Mia rushed inside with me, immediately seeking help from the staff. A nurse quickly brought a wheelchair and took me to the emergency room, with Mia right by my side.

As we waited for the doctor, my thoughts raced. I was scared, terrified of what might be happening. Valentino arrived shortly after, his face etched with worry.

"Bella, I'm here," he said, rushing to my side and taking my hand. "Everything's going to be okay. I'm here."

"I'm so scared, Valentino," I whispered, tears streaming down my face. "I'm so scared."

"Don't worry," Valentino said firmly. "We're in the best place. They'll take care of you and the baby."

The doctor finally came in, examining me and asking me a series of questions. The nurse took me for an ultrasound, and Valentino and Mia waited outside.

When the doctor returned, her expression was serious. "I'm afraid we have some concerning news. It appears that you're experiencing a miscarriage."

I felt my world shattered at those words. I look to Valentino, my eyes wide with disbelief and pain. "No... No...this can't be happening."

Valentino held me close, his own eyes wet with tears. "I'm sorry, bella. I'm here with you, always."

The doctor continued. "I'm very sorry for your loss. This can be a traumatic experience, but know that it's not your fault. We'll need to monitor you closely and ensure you receive the necessary care. I recommend you take it easy and rest as much as possible."
