Valentino and I were sitting on the couch, enjoying a quiet moment. The TV played in the background, but neither of us was really watching it. We were just talking, Valentino was sharing some moments about him and his brother.

I laughed along with him, but my thoughts were elsewhere. It was time to tell him about family. "Babe, there's something I need to tell you," I began.

He turned to me. "What's up?"

I took a deep breath. "My family... they're in town already. They're here early to be at the rehearsal dinner, which I thought they wouldn't attend. I expected them just for the wedding."

"Already? I thought we had time before.. you know, meeting the in-laws."

I gave a small laugh. "Yeah I did too. But here we are. And I just want to give you a heads up, they can be a lot especially my abuela."

He took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair. "Tell me about them. What should I expect?"

I smiled. "Well, my mom is the one who keeps everything together. She's loving but can be a bit overbearing. My dad is more laid back, but he's definitely protective. And then there's my abuela.. she's very traditional. She has strong opinions about relationships, marriage and family."

Valentino nodded, listening intently. "Sounds like I have my work cut out for me."

"It might be a little difficult," I admitted, squeezing his hand. "But just be yourself. They'll see why I love you."

He gave me a reassuring smile. My phone then buzzed and it was a message from my best friend group chat.

Jade: Hey ladies! I can't believe the rehearsal dinner is tomorrow! I can't believe the big day is almost here!

Amara: Omg, it's finally happening. Do u need any help with anything last minute?

Jade: Thanks. I think we're all set, but I'll let you know if anything comes up.

Me: Excited. It's going to be amazing.

Jade: Absolutely!

Amara: Ooh, I can't wait to see everyone all dressed up!

Jade: Yessss! Make sure y'all are there on time.

Amara: Copy that.

Jade: Alright, get some rest tonight, darlings. We've got a big day ahead😘

Me: See y'all tomorrow.

I stood in front of the mirror, putting the final touches on my look for the rehearsal dinner. I wore a light purple dress, it's straight cut silhouette accentuating my figure beautifully. The off the shoulder neckline was adorned with fuzzy trim that added a touch of glamour.
My hair was styled in an elegant updo with two strands left out to frame my face.

While Valentino was adjusting his jacket in the mirror. He wore a sleek black suit that fit him perfectly, paired with a crisp white shirt underneath. His dark hair was neatly styled and he exuded confidence and charm.

Valentino turned to look at me, his eyes widening in admiration. "You look stunning." He said.

I smiled, a blush creeping up on my cheeks. "Thanks. You look incredibly handsome."

He walked over to me, gently taking my hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Are you ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," I replied.
