Jake's P.O.V.

I drummed my fingers against the table as I looked over different routes with Seth.

"Excuse me sir, but this lady wanted me to give you this. She said you'd know it was from her," the waitress interrupted handing me a napkin.

"Thanks."

I opened the note.

I'm sorry.

Pray.

-D.B.

What was that supposed to mean?

Where was Autumn?

"Meet me in the car, Seth," I ordered as I threw money onto the table leaving to hunt down the waitress.

I found her behind the counter grabbing some menus.

"Excuse me, ma'am?"

She turned around surprised to see me there.

"Yes?"

"What did the woman that gave you this look like?"

"Well, she had brown hair, glasses," she tapped her chin her eyes growing wide, "Oh! She was also really pregnant. Looked like she could pop any moment now."

"Thanks," I mumbled clenching my teeth as I walked out.

It had been Autumn, but why did the note say "Pray"? Was she kidnapped?

I climbed into the SUV beating my fist against the dashboard.

"What's wrong sir?" Seth asked.

"She's gone. The note just says 'I'm sorry. Pray. D.B.', what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"I don't know sir."

"It is her handwriting, but why would she write that?"

"Could there be a meaning behind it or something?" Seth inquired.

"Who knows."

"So why'd your friends ditch you?" I asked Kristen, the 20 year old college student.

"They wanted to go to all these parties and get 'turnt up'" she finger quoted, "and I'm not about that life."

"I know what you mean," I agreed remembering on all the times Henry begged me to go with him to those parties.

"So we got into an argument, and I decided it was best to leave. What about you? Why were you so far away from home?"

"I was visiting a friend in Austin," I partially lied, "and you know the rest."

"I feel like I've seen you before though," she said briefly glancing at me.

I bit my lip not sure whether to tell her the truth.

"You're Autumn Williams! My little sister got your autograph a couple months ago!"

I flushed in my seat. Great...

"I almost didn't recognize you," she confessed.

I let out a small laugh, "I'm assuming from my comfy outfit, no make up, glasses, a ginormous belly, and no diamond ring on my finger, you didn't recognize me at first. Glad to know."

She blushed, "I didn't mean it like that."

"It's ok," I assured.

"My yesterday really looks up to you, you know?"
