Chapter 7

Autumn's POV

The day of the billboard reveal had come. I was super nervous especially of what Jake would think. I was anxiously pacing my room when there was a knock at the door.

"Yes?"

"Miss, a package has arrived," announced Louise one of the new maids.

I opened the door, there stood the shy girl holding the package nervously. She reminded me of myself in a way.

"Thank you Louise, has my husband arrived yet?"

She shook her head, "No m'aam."

"Has he at least called?"

"No, I'm afraid not."

"Alright, thank you."

I closed the door setting the package on the bed.

There was a note attached.

Autumn,

Please select one of my mother's three gowns to represent her new collection tonight. Can't wait to see it!

There were three dress wrapped delicately. All were different from one another. I ended up choosing a black one strap high low dress that was sexy yet classy. I looked through my closet finding the perfect black heels. I fixed my hair half up half done then created a smoky eye effect. I smiled at my reflection knowing Tina and Alex would be proud. I looked at my watch frowning I had just enough time to take pictures on "the red carpet" they had created for the entrance of the hotel. A lot of celebrities and well known entrepreneurs would be there. I was just about to call Henry when my cell phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hello Red," answered a deep voice I instantly recognized.

"Hayden? How did you get my number?"

"I'm sure you know from who," I could almost picture him smirking. "I was wondering if you wanted to arrive together."

I bit my lip contemplating for a second or two. Looking at my clock I noticed I only had an hour to arrive.

Biting my lip I responded, "I'll meet you in front of the Williams' Corporation. I'm already heading there," I lied hoping he wouldn't ask any questions.

"Why Williams' Corporations?"

" My friend works there and it's close to Brandenburg's."

"Alright I'll see you there."

Arriving at the Williams' Corporation I stepped out of the taxi spotting a luxurious car parked along the curb. No doubt it being Hayden's I walked over. He stepped out before I could even reach the car flashing my his smirk while trailing his eyes over my body. I felt as I were naked under his gaze.

"You look breath taking!"

"Thank you," I blushed.

"Are you ready to go?"

I nodded.

Jake's POV

I rushed home hoping to make it to Autumn's event. I hadn't meant to take so long patrolling the city, but of course there were criminals out there that needed to be stopped.

I parked the car in the garage taking the secret staircase to the basement. I discarded my super hero attire heading upstairs. Dashing up the stairs Louise stopped me.

"Sir, Miss Autumn wanted me to inform you that she has left and will wait for you at the event."

My lip formed a thin line.
