Although, the battle ended on a victory in our side, the disaster left behind a massive damage to the Sven Kingdom. Many weren't able to get treated nor managed to survive the bloodbath. And Silvio is one of them.
It was a shocking news to me when I heard of what happened to him. We weren't close enough for it to make a huge impact on me and feel emotional but even so, it shouldn't have happened to him. Silvio didn't deserve to die because i know that he's a good person. And he's the kind of people that we all need the most in this crisis, to overcome this disastrous events that brings nothing but pain and misery.
While i was getting treated by Lyka, one of the nurse in Sven Kingdom, I'm just lost on thoughts while the images of the brave people who fought to depend their homeland flashed before my eyes. Some of then ended in an unfortunate death and will never be able to see the rise of the sun ever again. Silvio and many other people, they didn't deserve it. They didn't deserve to die when all they wanted was to protect their family or whatever they hold dear to them the most.
But a mere terrarian like myself couldn't do anything about it. I'm not someone who have the power to change someone else's fate. I just hope that their soul and the family they left behind finds peace even though i know for sure that yesterday late last night fight isn't over just yet. It's just the beginning and they will be more challenges for us to face head on.
But with what's been happening to us, it kind of made me question right now. What exactly will happen if we were to fail what we are supposed to do. Is it really going to be the end of humanity?
What if we were actually just delaying the inevitable? What if they are actually no stop to this until we, all humans, are wiped out?
It can't be actually that... is it?
///
"I've already treated all of your visible wounds, is there anything that hurts?" A soft feminine voice snapped me out of my thought.
Either my ears or my eyes must be putting an illusion on me because the voice of a woman who just spoke to me now appeared to be in a body of a man.
But wait... this one isn't just any other man. It is the appearance of Ian. The one who I've searching for, my rival. It made me confused at first but soon finally understand what actually is happening.
Lyka said the exact same line Ian said to me way before he disappeared without saying any parting words to his relatives. It was when i got multiple bruises after our duel but he immediately healed all of those before it gets worse. It must have been because of that specific moment that it triggered my mind to show this tricky illusion.
"Say Lyka..."
"Yes?"
"Have of heard of what happened to Ian?" I suddenly said. Even i myself didn't know why I'm still asking such a question when it's most likely going to be useless like it have always been. I didn't bat an eye to the person whom I'm talking with but instead stared at the nothingness of the white ceiling while laying down on the bed.
"Ian? I'm sorry, I'm afraid i do not know of who you are referring to, Amber..."
"Ah right, you never get to know his name... I supposed you just didn't want to know the name of the person that irritates you the most..." I said as i reminiscent the memories i have when Ian would often get a lecture from Lyka for not being a gentleman. "Ian. My rival, the one i always fought with."
"What? His name is Ian...? ....why would you look for someone who doesn't have shame hurting a girl?" She sighed, showing a little bit of irritation. "He always asks us to heal you whenever he runs out of his healing potion, why can't he just not hurt you in the first place?"
Finally having my eyes on her, i responses, "I think you misunderstood it Lyka. We are rival. It's perfectly normal for us to fight to see whoever is the best in a certain class... even if i sometimes get hurts, i still enjoyed it. It is as if I'm meant to be in a battlefield. Also, it's not like I've gotten in a very dangerous condition even once, he knows exactly when to stop and call it a day... Sadly, i don't know if we will ever be able to do it once again..."
"Hmm? Why's that?" She irked her eyebrows.
"He's been missing for two weeks. I thought you already know of it."
"He's been missing for what? Two weeks...? ...so he hasn't comeback yet since then..."
Having my interest suddenly piqued, i got up from the bed and hold her shoulders, "Since then? Lyka... did you know where he has gone to?" I queried, feeling hopeful that her answer would give some lead or idea on what actually happened to my rival.
"I'm actually not confident with my memory but if i remember correctly, he visited two weeks ago here while heavily injured. He mentions about Goblins but i already forgot the other details since i thought he's just talking nonesense. He immediately left right after he was discharged.
I'm deeply sorry if what any of i said is of no help. I'm not even sure about it... I'm really sorry Amber."
"No Lyka, what you said is more than enough. Out of all people i asked regarding Ian's disappearance, you're the one who gave the most information. I'm very thankful of you."
That's right, this place is where Ian is most likely to visit often because he's a terrarian. How and why didn't i think of this before...
He visited two weeks ago while heavily injured and he also mentions something about Goblins.
This is my first clue.
Ian is heavily injured according to Lyka's story. That part just doesn't add up to the stories. Ian is a resilient and a strong terrarian, for someone to hurt him to that extent... just who could have done it to him?
What exactly is the connection of Ian's disappearance with the goblins?
Question of the day: If you were to get transported to the terraria world and forced to pick a certain class, what class will you choose? Why?
///End of the first arc///
Author's note: So yeah, we'll be going to the second arc now in the next chapter and i think i might try doing the second arc in third person POV. It'll help me a lot since action-packed really shines when it's in 3rd person POV. Also, as i say, i wanted to try different POV in order for me to improve and be a better writer.
