"Geez what's up with your face, Amber?" Owen asked once he saw my face that shows an obvious sign of fatigue. He was currently sitting on a wooden chair while eating a big loaf of bread. Wendy, on the other hand, was on the top of the table, watching my friend as he munched on his food. "You looked as if there is some sort evil monster living under your eyes." He stifled a laugh, seizing the chance to joke around as he know i won't be having the energy to hit him or do anything on my current state.
"Shut up, i just... didn't get a proper sleep yesterday..." I said as i plopped myself onto the blue sofa, feeling fatigued. Last night, i could hardly get any sleep, i even forced myself to sleep multiple times but to no avail. Since i couldn't sleep no matter how hard i tried, i ended up spending the whole night reading the book Ian gave to me before which i surprisingly even managed to finish reading.
"Really? That sucks. Do you want a coffee? I'll make fo-"
Before my friend could even finish his sentence, i instantly responded as my craving for caffeine kicked in, "Ah yes coffee, bring me a coffee. I've been craving a coffee since i woke up but... no more coffee... at home..." I muttered as i forced my eyes open, fighting the temptation to sleep, especially not in someone else's house.
I could hear Owen's chuckle as i slowly closed my eyes, finally giving in to the temptation, "Okay, rest a little while i make your coffee." Was the last thing he said before i heard his footsteps, probably going to the kitchen.
It didn't take too long before Owen came back with the coffee he prepared. "Here, it will help you gain some energy." He helped me get up and gave the cup of coffee to which i gladly accepted.
"Thanks." I muttered and took a sip of the caffeine. The coffee was bitter and not my taste but i didn't mind the bitterness and just kept drinking as the more i drink, the more i could feel my energy slowly coming back.
"Ah right, Amber. Yesterday, someone came over here looking for you. He said was asked by the King to deliver a message, it seems very important considering the message came from the king himself so i just pointed where you live. What was the message about?" Owen queried and continued eating the loaf of bread, his curious eyes were fixed on me as he waited for a response.
As I was too busy drinking my coffee, i just picked the message paper from my brown trouser's pocket and hand it over to my friend without saying a word. Owen's green eyes travel left and right as he read the message quietly, "W-what, you get an invitation from the king himself to come to the castle?! Where is my invitation? When will i get an invitation like this?" He cried out of jealousy but i didn't take it seriously because i know that he was just being sarcastic.
I gulped the the remaining coffee in the cup, recieving a groan from Owen after hearing me say, "Maybe when you're finally a terrarian."
"Being terrarian is no doubt, fun and exciting but i already told you Amber, I'm already satisfied on being a bartender. Serving beautiful ladies at bar is what i live for!" Owen proudly said, reaching out the bread to the air as if offering the food to the great Moonlord.
Owen's family owns a famous bar, known as Peirce's Bar, located at the northern part of Sven Kingdom. My friend works there as a bartender everynight, serving every costumer on what kind of drink they want. He loves his job a lot since beautiful ladies and honorable terrarian often visited the bar. I've visited Peirce's Bar before but i didn't like it at all because of the atmosphere, there are also lot of guy who kept flirting on me even after i already shows no sign of interest for them which is kind of annoying. Even though i didn't like the atmosphere, i still go to their bar sometimes as their drinks are high quality and delicious.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let's go now Wendy." I called my pet to follow after me as i started walking out of Owen's house. I heard a happy squeak from the fennec fox and soon after, the creature is now in front of me as if it was leading the way for me.
"You're going to the castle? Are you going to be okay? You just looked so worn out a little while ago." Suprised, I glanced at the back to see Owen following me as well.
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine now, thanks to the coffee that you gave to me. Also, the message said they invited all of the promising terrarian so there is a chance i might see Ian. Hopefully. "
"I see..."
Question of the day: What terraria reference would you want to see in this story?
