"I'm guessing, you are the mage arranged to this battlement?" A black-haired man, who looks to be around his 20s, approached me and offers his hand for a handshake. In his other hand was what appeared to be a flare gun.

"Uh... yes. I'm Amber," I accepted his offer of handshake, not wanting to offend or disrespect the man in black hair.

"Ah nice to meet you Amber! Don't be too shy around us, we'll take care of you. I'm Silvio btw," said Silvio with a bright and friendly smile. I was actually kind of relieved to have someone like him in this battlement, he seems to be the kind and friendly type of guy. "This guy right here holding a tungsten bow is Buffy. The other guy on a minishark is Jake."

Silvio introduced me to the other ranger class guys. After seeing Buffy, i quickly glanced back at Silvio as if asking if the guy in arrow is actually a terrarian to which i elicited a calm nod. Judging by his look, he looks 12-15 years old. He's too young to be taking on a dangerous mission or adventure. Never have i seen a terrarian as young as him. Is he perhaps a genius? Because of his young look, i was kind of curious or intrigued about him but sadly the young boy didn't bat an eye on us and just minded his own business by inspecting the chess full of different sort of arrows.

Jake is different to Buffy. He stared at me, at least for a 3mins straight and in a scrutinizing way. Even without saying a word, i could tell by his eyes that he's somewhat annoyed just by my presence alone.

"Okay, it'll be starting soon. Let's prepare everything we need, we don't want to be unprepared during a battle, do we?" Silvio laughed while scratching the back of his head, cutting off Jake's stare at me. I just nodded in silent and went for the chess full of supplies provided to us.

Inside the golden chess was a stock of healing potion and mana potion. I smiled in satisfaction seeing a bunch of mana potion. For a mage class terrarian, it is a dream come true to have as much as mana potion as these in chess. Although it has the same price as healing potion, mana potion is kinda pricey for someone like me who doesn't have golden spoon in their mouth.

"Pft, another girl again. This battlement is the only one who have one mage out of all the battlement and yet we even got a godamn girl. Why am i so unlucky, I might actually die here." I heard someone muttered behind my back but i didn't dare look to see who it is. I probably already know who said it so i just pretended like i heard nothing. There's not much i can do about it anyways, enemies will soon appear and i don't want myself stressing over some little stuff before the battle even start.

I have already heard these kind of comments before and yes it's sometimes frustrating but mind you, there are other comments which are much more worse compared to Jake's. There are times before where i exploded in anger because of this inequality sh*t but in the end, I only embarrassed myself. The only best thing to do is to avoid them and cause no trouble so you won't be frustrated the whole day. I'll just let karma take care of them.

A few hours later, the disaster we all have been expecting actually transpire. Goblins, zombies and other monsters starts appearing everywhere, coming from the forest, mountains and even from the lakes. Even though we already know what to expect, what everyone didn't see coming was for the blood moon to happen at the same time. Seeing this, it instantly affect everyone's mental. Dealing with goblins and monsters during a blood moon, it just greatly decrease our chance of winning.

This... this can't be just a coincidence...

As expected, the groom, the bride, blood zombie and drippler starts appearing out of nowhere as well. They just added to the list of monsters we have to deal with. They aren't greater in numbers compared to us but during a blood moon, monsters become stronger. Strong enough to destroy the gate and door of each houses. If we hadn't evacuated our residents then it would definitely mess up our formation and plan. Not only they become stronger, they also spawn twice as fast compare to a normal evening. Even cute bunnies and innocent goldfish become aggressive as the moon, sky and water turned red.

"Ready your weapon guys, it is time..." said Silvio. His voice didn't waver but his eyes exposed the worry inside of him.

The horns being blowned could be heard from afar, signaling the start of the battle.

Thug! Thug! Thug!

My heart pounded at a fast rate. It kept beating faster and faster as the battle go on which heavily affected my performance. I wasn't doing that badly at the start but my accuracy dropped significantly because of my nervousness building up. Now, I'm barely hitting anything at all.

"Oii, mage girl! What's with your aiming?! We've been dealing with this flock of monsters for hours and you barely hit anything?! You aren't contributing at all!" My eyes darted to where the voice came from and sure enough, it was Jake.

"Shut up! You have no idea how hard it is to hit enemies using a staff!" I shouted, losing control of my cool and pointing my ruby staff right in front of him. This guy is really starting to get on my nerve.

"Then you shouldn't have went for the Mage class-"

"Stop it, Jake. We're in the middle of a battle, focus on yourself and take this seriously. That is if you don't want to die to a demon eyes just because you're busy arguing about something pointless."

"G-guys... Si-silv-" hearing an unfamiliar voice, it caught the attention of the three of us. It was none other than the young guy in a bow. His eyes were locked in something far away, terrified and seems to be in a state of giving up.

"What is it Buffy? Just focus on dealing with the monsters!"

"There's a giant... a giant demon eye coming from the south..."

Sure enough, a large demon eye could be seen from the far south. It shrieked so loud and in a terrifying sound. So loud it caught all the attention of everyone on the battlefield. Its giant eye met my own eyes, not hiding its killing intent. It suddenly dashed towards our direction, seemingly to be mocking us as our futile shots deflected away.

Question of the day: What is your best experience in playing terraria so far?

Author's Note: I already said it before but I'm saying it again. Correcting my grammartical errors is highly appreciated. I'll be even in joy if you suggested a better wording to a particular sentence for the story to improve.

I'm also kind of disappointed that my work isn't getting that much read but i guess it is expected considering only few amount of people read a terraria fanfic. I'll just take this one as a training to improve myself. Almost no one is reading this that I'm not worried at all to a readers who talk trash when they read a shitty story.
