Aurora Blackwood
As I watch Sohan Azure leave with his employees, I await the door to close before letting out a massive sigh of relief. That grin could eat me alive. The way the modernised industrial lighting sat above his perfectly silk black hair with that perfectly groomed stubble across his chiselled jawline would have sent any woman into a frenzy.
Fortunately he isn't my type, tall, dark, tatted and insane. Ill stick with my sweet golden retriever men, at least I don't get belittled in my own meeting.
My colleague turned to me and smiled.
"I know, I know. I'm just that good."
I smirk as he laughs abruptly shaking me in excitement.
Adrian Thompson. My very homosexual right hand man. Good- looking, sweet, VERY protective and very egotistical. He is the only one who made my disgusting background bearable.
"You may have failed to stop his expansion but you somehow wrapped it around to make 50% of the profits he brings in! That's incredible! Time for a celebration I recon"
He smirked towards me.
A laugh left my mouth as I hand my paperwork to the other aid on his left and we all walk out in sync. As we make our way passed his office I hear a booming voice of someone I never want to be on the receiving end of. A sly smile grew amongst my lips as I heard Sohan bereding his co worker for his incompetence during the meeting.
We load onto the elevator and head down to the ground floor. As we reach our drivers at the front of the intimidatingly tall skyscraper, we settle into the cars as they bring us back to our work areas. I see a message brighten up the back of the car from my parents.
Great.
Adrian glanced over and saw my change in mood as he sneaked a peak at my phone. If his words didn't come out, his face sure said it. Pure disgrace.
Mother: Remember that evening ball we have tonight! A large announcements being made and you need to be there to support your father. Dress properly.
"Adrian-"
"Don't you worry your sexy ass about a thing! I already have a beautiful silk suit begging to be worn, ill be there."
Another weight off of my shoulders, a soft smile settled on my face as he leaned onto my shoulder, I rest my head onto his and stare out at the road ahead of me.
What announcement requires me to look my best? My brain scrambled for ideas or things my soulless parents have hinted at over the past few months but not one single thought made sense. I roll my eyes and try to clear my mind of the upcoming events of tonight.
Oh god how I wished I had insight into the future.
As the long day passed, the weather cleared to a beautiful cloud free night sky, a slight chill through the breeze surrounded everyone and anyone who walked the white carpet into an overly guarded home estate. One of the many estates that my parents took the pleasure in rebuilding for no benefit but there own. Poor construction workers.
I look over at Adrian sat across from me in his white and grey silk suit with those beautiful earrings of his, I considered robbing them tonight but unfortunately I had to dress my best so I decided a satin low back dress with a small trail would do with jewels hanging from each piece of my pierced body.
My red lipstick to compliment the black material clinging to my body as my hair waves beautifully, thanks to Adrian with his magical skills and surprising talents that are apparently never ending.
